Bad news for McCain all over the map.
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x4141.xml?ReleaseID=1188
Four surveys conducted by Quinnipiac University for the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, fielded June 17-24
Colorado: Obama 49 - McCain 44, n=1,351 likely voters, margin of sampling error of +/- 2.7 percent
Michigan: Obama 48 - McCain 42, n=1,411 likely voters, margin of sampling error of +/- 2.6 percent
Minnesota: Obama 54 - McCain 37, n=1,572 likely voters, margin of sampling error of +/- 2.5 percent
Wisconsin: Obama 52 - McCain 39, n=1,537 likely voters, margin of sampling error of +/- 2.5 percent
It is time, McCain!
The longer this goes without Bambi truly pulling away, the more likely a McCain victory. Despite the attempts of a couple of polling outfits to make this look like a blowout, the reality is it is a very close race right now with Obama holding a small lead.
When the 527s start to attack Obama, that will tell the story IMO. If he can withstand the barrage, he could get a close win. I think it is equally possible he will implode under the pressure though.
Bad news for Obamicans, it a Qunnipac poll. They have never been even close to right on Election day. Might as well be quoting a DNC poll as quote Qunnipac
What 527s are going to go after Obama? The vast majority have their sights set on McCain. Besides, though part of McCain-Feingold was overruled, it will still limit them some in that the election is within 60 days of the nomination.
And this is why they do such a poor job.
From their website:
Quinnipiac University
"Ninety minutes from New York City and two hours from Boston, Quinnipiac is located next to picturesque Sleeping Giant Mountain in Hamden, Conn. The campus is home to nearly 5,400 undergraduates and 2,000 graduate students, coming from 24 states and several countries."
Live in the middle of the liberal bastion.
Oh, and they are sooooooo unbiased. These words are emblazoned on the the top of the Quinnipiac U. polling Homepage:
November cant get here soon enough for Sen. Barack Obama. He has a lead everywhere, and if nothing changes between now and November he will make history, said Peter Brown. http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x271.xml
Do you feel the love?
And the Q. college kiddies doing the "news"
How would the “Repubs” ditch McCain, when he has a committed by rule majority of the delegates? How would you get ANY of those who voted for McCain in the primary to support another candidate once you threw out THEIR votes and their candidate, who won the primaries?
How would you EVER again complain about the undemocratic Democrats if you overturned the results of an election because you weren’t happy with the result?
The time to “replace” McCain was when he was running. Instead, conservatives right here at FR were urging him on to victory in New Hampshire and North Carolina.
Add a few (4-6) points to McCain and subtract a few from Obama for the "Bradley Effect" and Obama would seem to be in some trouble.
Five months of this crap...and that’s all this is ...crap. ,o debates, no nothing yet. Ridiculous.
We won't have nearly as many on our side as the RATs will have on theirs, but ours have typically been very effective with their limited funds (e.g. the Swifties).
The media is giving Obama a free pass. McCain is giving Obama a free pass. Our 527s will not.
I'm betting the attacks will be pretty devastating when they come. There is soooo much material out there to work with.
Gallup has been doing this since FDR. Maybe they know something?
The polling should widen again over the weekend (when people with families will be going to the beach or the mountains) and narrow or cross again next week.
And those states aren't going to change from their commie status this time either. Minnesota and Wisconsin are becoming the butt of so many jokes that the people up there are embarrassed what their legislators are doing.
Minnesota ... illegal to idle your vehicle over 3 minutes. Stupid liberals get what they deserve. Wisconsin said it would follow suit.
Yep.
They must have polled only Minneapolis and Madison.
Boy, am I confused. I meant that for macca.
Enough already with the Dukakis BS... That was a long time ago... 20 years... You folks are delusional to bring that up... We had an incredibly popular President in Reagan on the stump for Bush... It was a totally different political climate... It’s naive, and dumb to even bring that up. Why don’t you bring up Dole/Clinton, where Clinton was in the lead, and never gave it up?
If they can do a bait-and-switch before the official nomination, and select Romney, they’d be in much better shape.
