Mayor Fenty just said, live on Fox News Channel, that although DC citizens can keep guns in their homes and they will start allowing people to register/license, that "semi-automatic handguns will still be illegal" in DC!
Doesn't that directly contravene this morning's ruling? Is he spitting in the face of SCOTUS already??

Calling an automatic a semi-automatic is a corruption of the language that seems to have started in the 1970’s. Mr. Browning’s pistols were designated in military contracts as automatics. The military did not need to shorten the term. An “automatic” is distinct from a “fully automatic pistol” or “machine pistol”.
So what are we going to do about it?... I mean, this decision upheld the 2nd, but obviously had it not been for GWB appointments, things would have easily gone the other way. So how are you and I going to make sure that there is a fighting chance that future SCOTUS decisions will uphold the Constitution?
Back John McCain. The idea that any Conservative would sit out and not vote this election, is just unacceptable. McCain may not have been your 1st choice, or 2nd or 3rd choice for that matter but he’s the one that survived. Admit that there is a much greater chance that he will appoint a Constitutionalist to the bench than another a Liberal azz-hat that Hussein will guarantee you. This election is not about my/your picky perfect individual choice, it’s about selecting the better choice for America. Absolutely no one on this board can honestly say the soros-puppetted quasi-hope/change empty suit of liberalism is preferrable to John McCain. An empty/write-in/sit-home vote is a vote, by another name, for Hussein.
How many Freepers are willing to do more to stop the obamanination? I mean more than posting here, voting against Hussein and more than sending a check to McCain when you a get the campaign calls?
There are so many ways that individuals can stop the influence of the hussein-campaign. The level of fraud between now and Election Day that they will be attempted will be unprecedented. The money & machine backing Hussein is unreal! Where do you think the initial millions came from to place him ahead of well-seasoned Democrat politicians? Unfortunately, the only way to stop the fraud is to enter the districts or precints where it all happens.
Watch the soros-acorn funded busses that solicit illegitmate votes as well as legitimate ones. Some may attempt to pay for registrations, submit bogus signatures, submit applications for non-existent people, dead people, foreign nationals, or felons. Vigilance Now during the registration periods and especially on election day are essential. Other tricks include the quarter million or so voters that have registered in duplicate states (concentrated in NY,NJ,CT,PA,MA & FL). The usual tricks of the past will include distributing fraudulent,lieing, race-baiting, fear-mongering campaign literature. These need to be exposed immediately especially if they are found in government offices. Also, people need to monitor the utilization of churches, tax-payer funded municipal & community centers as campaign distribution centers or places to show campaign movies (referring to whatever obamanation flick Michael Moore is likely to barf-up next month.)
Looking out for Conservative interest means being the eyes and ears on the ground, as well as on this forum. As many Conservatives as possible should officially volunteer through your district election office to be an observer as an Independent or Republican. (Do not select the “comfort zone” of a Conservative precinct where there is no funky business.) Thousands of Conservative observers and pollworkers are needed to stop those intent on fraud.
If no one is looking out for Conservative interest, what the hill to do think is going to happen? The derelict votes pile up and they influence every level of office as well as all the propositions and amendments. Start recruiting your friends now and become vigilant, it’s well worth the effort to retard the force of Liberalism/Socialism.

It's pretty hard to fan effectively with a .44, which kicks like a mule. It's funny to note that the fastest quick shooters in the world shoot a single action revolver faster than they do a double action, and every bit as fast as a semi-auto.

A revolver is not a semiautomatic unless it’s a Webley-Fosbery or Mateba. Semiautomatic refers to the pistol doing the work of loading the next round to be fired. In a revolver, you are doing the work of setting up the next rounds by using the double action trigger mechanism to load.
The fastest shooter in the world uses a double action revolver because he didn’t want to wait for the semi to cycle the action.

There are only two types of semiautomatic revolvers in existance. The Webley-Fosbery of “The Maltese Falcon” fame and the Italian made Mateba. A highly decorated Mateba was used in the movie “Serenity”.
Granted I'm not an expert on the subject, but I recently watched an episode of "Modern Marvels" which addressed shooters, and they presented a man who they said was a world champion quick shooter. I'm sorry but I don't recall his name.
He showed and specifically discussed how he can draw and shoot six shots from a single action revolver faster than a double action revolver, because the human thumb is a more efficient cocking mechanism than the inner workings of a double action revolver. I'm basing my statement on that show, and my knowledge ends there.
I know what a semi-automatic action is, merely pointing out the lack of knowledge on the part of mayor for life A. Fenty. They all try to justify stupidity.
Jerry Miculek fired a record six shots, reload and another six shots just under three seconds with a revolver. The prior record holder with a double action revolver was Ed McGiven.
I’ll “update” my terminology about automatic pistols such as the M1911A1 right after I “update” my terminology about marriage.
I think that military service should be a prerequisite for holding public office, serving as a police officer and holding the franchise. I think that unless you are willing to put your own tender tush on the line for your society and country, you have no business being able to vote or run for whatever office, INCLUDING dog catcher... or hold any position of power over others.
The 1911 Colt is a semi-auto but does NOT have a “gas system.” It is, like MOST pistols, RECOIL operated.
Semi-auto pistols are mostly magazine-fed, recoil operated, HAND weapons... whereas rifles generally use a gas-piston system to operate the mechanism to cock and load the weapon.
