Republican voters in Utah ousted Rep. Chris Cannon in Tuesdays GOP primary, expressing their dissatisfaction with the six-term congressman over his left-of-center positions on immigration by nominating a challenger who made crackdowns on illegal immigration a central part of his platform.
Cannon was trounced by Jason Chaffetz, the former chief of staff to Gov. Jon Huntsman (R-Utah.) With 93 percent of precincts reporting, Cannon trails Chaffetz by 20 points 60 to 40 percent. The AP has called the race for Chaffetz.

Silly me.
I apologize to everyone for my stutters. FR is acting up on me. :(
I missed the primary yesterday. I was attending the birth of my brand new babygirl granddaughter!
This news is the second best news I’ve had since yesterday.
We almost defeated Cannon last election. If I remember correctly (and I do) this site supported Cannon in his run against a freeper in 2006. In fact that Freeper, John Jacobs got banned during the election process....
....Just sayin.’
Goober Graham, Bob Barr, and Chris Cannon had a chance with their service on the House Impeachment Committee to win national favor with conservatives. But as we now know these three were not all that conservative when and where it counts.
Have no fear my FRiend, those "idiotic" Conservatives who don't support the party will be replaced by the libs who McCain is courting.
I'm sure a vocal McCain supporter will enjoy the coalition that will assemble to elect and administer the McCain administration.
RIP RINO loser..
I’ll forward it to FReeper Kerretarded. He is the creator/Keeper of the list. :D Thanks.

Same here
bttt
I thought when he changed his mind on offshore drilling I might could vote for him, then I heard him talk about global warming and obscene oil profits...
Frankly I don’t trust him on judges enough to even vote for him on that basis. That is probably as big a lie as his “i saw the light” on immigration last summer.
Good news on Chaffetz, I hope he does not do a ‘Jindal’ and we find out he is no more than all talk and no action ‘Conservative’!
ping
But this is where to start. We need to get rid of the McCains in our party in the House, and the Senate. Good job Utah.
Cannon ousted? Oh, my the open border lobby won’t like that....you mean an enforcement first guy CAN beat a squishy middle of the road RINO??? Who knew? ....snicker....
“On your idiotic comment: Their positions are miles apart.”
Maybe inches...but miles??? Show us. At lest Obama hasn’t insulted his own base over illegal aliens.
