Sanity check, please: Is this not funny? (Vanity)
Posted on 06/23/2008 5:50:26 AM PDT by Maceman
OK. So yesterday, in what I guess in retrospect was a lame attempt at satire, I posted this thread about Obama's attempt to reach out to female Hillary supporters. I posted a link to this video that I thought perfectly captured the essence of Obama's campaign appearances.
Well, bottom line, nobody clicked on the video link -- which I understand because the thread made it sound like it was just another video of an Obama campaign appearance. So I sent the video to some friends, and they didn't get it either.
So now I gotta axe myself: is it me? Or is the video really not funny in the context of an Obama appearance? What do you think?

Cute and too true of the personality driven culture in which we live!

I went to see Elvis in person in about 1954 and that was just about the way it was. I haven't been to see nObama yet so I can't make a personal comment but from what I hear, that is pretty close.
He says nothing of substance and women faint. Yep!
Where did that video come from?

Pretty funny but I gotta wonder where you dug that up. Too much time on your hands?Actually, it was a scene from the movie "Bye Bye Birdie," which came out in 1963 when I was 13 (I had a real school-boy crush on Ann-Margret in that movie), and it immediately came to mind when I read that Obama was trying to woo Hillary supporters. So I did a Youtube search and was able to find it easily.
As for having too much time on my hands, well, if we all didn't have that, we wouldn't be addicted to FR in the first place.

Is the broad in the blue dress with the...uhmmmm...leg problem - is that Chrissy Matthews in drag?
You know what they say about sincerity - if you can fake that, you've got it made!
It's a close call, but I vote "FUNNY!" :)

Boy, I'd give almost anything to have that guitar. Worth a small fortune today.
Oh... what was your question again???
