Why would the “de-facto moratorium” have affected S. Carolina if they are using the chair to execute people? That case was all about the chemicals in lethal injections.

It’s good to see that some states still use the electric chair. Most states, if they have capital punishment at all, opt for that sissy lethal injection.

The lifers at Maryland State Penitentiary used to refer to the use of the electric chair as "riding the lightenin' express." I worked with many of the lifers who were officers and members of the Jaycee Chapter in the prison. They freely stated that the worst of the worst in the penitentiary richly deserved to ride the lightenin' express.
