I have no scientific evidence, but it seems to me that this whole baby mama phenomenon is becoming very popular in blue collar white communities (like Gloucester). If the girl isn’t going to college, she’s having a baby, no “father” needed. Intentional bastardy aint just for the ghetto anymore...

“I will have something that will unconditionally love me!”
I love that idiotic line teen mothers always try to justify their irresponsiblity with. They confuse love with need. The first couple years of a babies life, its not all about it giving you love. Its about it needing you to feed it, wash it, and take care of it.
translated:
“my parents and the state will pay for all this, and they will do the majority of taking care of it as I continue to go out and party and raise my children without a marriage or good father in its life.”

The proper response to this would require a PhD dissertation. However for those of you reading this who have teenage daughters and want some unprofessional advice, here is one thing you should do.
Get rid of your Cable TV or Learn how to censor (not a bad word for teenagers) about a third of the Entertainment Shows. Some suggestions: MTV (the absolute worst), VH1 (same as MTV), The E-Channel, Others too many to mention. These show are ABSOLUTE POSION! They convey a very toxic message to young teenage girls. The damage that these programs do is not to be underestimated. They are a very powerful cultural force on young impressionable minds. Again I could write a huge essay about this but now is not the time to do it and there are many out there who are far better at this than me. This is very serious.

Gee, they teach kids in school that sex is fun, that you should experiment with it married or no and that there are all kids of ways to get around the 'consequences.' Then, when something like this happens, all the adminstrators stand around wringing their hands saying, "how could this have happened?"
The people running our schools are by-and-large complete idiots.

Spent a few days in Gloucester last summer, waiting out some weather on a sailing trip from Maine to CT. One evening while we were there I went to a local restaurant. I was leaving the mens room walking a few feet behind two well dressed young ladies, probably high school age. They were discussing another individual and the language they were using would make a sailor blush. Dirt bag was one of the kinder phrases used, and they were local judging by their accent. So this Gloucester story about HS pregnancies doesn’t surprise me.

Well here in Austin, one of the high schools - Johnston High is being closed and reopened under a new name because of low grades and students failing the TAKS. The district GUARANTEED that the daycare would be open for next years classes.

I never waste my time drilling down more than one layer to get relevant details of any story.
At the link given, I notice a very crucial, if subtle omission:
The ages of the (pregnant) girls is deemed irrelevant.
Boggles the mind.

The earlier two articles mentioned the “pact” as a fact. They even gave the reason as “having someone to unconditionally love you.”

My mother would say they are living like animals, which they are.
17 yrs ago I worked at a Public Health Dept. issuing WIC vouchers and doing paper work for the clinic. We had an alraming rate of teen girls getting pregnant, to the point that the middle school RN was bringing girls in on family planning day to get them on the pill. (We'd usually see them in a couple of months for a pregnancy test) One teen told me "my men's need my sex and it's gooooood". Others couldn't abstain long enough for the pill to take effect and many others wanted a bi racial baby cause "they are sooo cute!".
I resigned my job about the time I was enrolling 1-2 13 yr old girls on WIC a week. The 'fruits' of all the pregnancies are now my daughter's peers. So, in some cases, I've watch two generations of teen moms haughtily step onto the public dole.
Parenting begings the day you bring them home from the hospital...no later.

Nurse practitioner Kim Daly administered 150 pregnancy tests to students by May, prompting her and the clinic's medical director, Dr. Brian Orr, to lobby for the prescription of contraceptives regardless of parental consent.Don't you just love it when the liberal nanny state tries to solve a problem it created?

It’s all that abstinance they are taught in school.
Yep, that’s what I heard one ditz say on Fox the other day.
The reason kids are getting pregnant nowadays is because they are being taught abstinance.

As I stated during the govt raid on the mormon gathering place and confiscation of kids, where do the proponents of this govt raid stand on this issue. Should they take the kids? Note, that at least one 16 YO girl is pregnant by 24 YO homeless guy? A practice that goes on every city in the country and these dads won’t provide a dime of support.
