The link from your post should be added to the OP to provide a source for the headline.

I didn’t know you where still around.....We had a few dust up’s on FR back when the year 2000 rolled in......

Glad to see your still here!

I think everyone was involved in a dust up in 2000. The "Buchanan Wars" were pretty dang intense.

Ir'a all water under the bridge. New foes to fight, new allies to make.

It's all good.

Everyone should watch this video. This idiot is a Commie who said the government should “set the price” of oil. Hey stupid, have you ever heard of long lines and rationing. That’s the first thing that going to happen.

The headline nearly defies belief. Unfortunately, it's no joke. Here's a link to the article on Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/urgent_queue/index.html#a54ef44,2008-06-18

That’s what some people believe; that because its been stopped at Socialism, and how if people would only sacrifice more, that Communism would be the perfect way.

Memo to all Soputhwest Virginia FReepers.....

I’m calling Rick Boucher’s office in Abington and DC tomorrow to ask if he favors nationalization of the coal industry.

His party is on record for nationalization of the other energy industry, the oil industry, and it is reasonable to asume they favor taking over the coal industry as well.

I’m also going to call his buddy Hank Hayes at the Kingsport Times News and ask the same question.

You should call also......

They wanted to drive up prices to the extent that we would thank them for nationalizing and giving us affordable gas again. Bush's move just caused them to step it up!

Very perceptive analysis. Also, I think the Rats are feeling confident of all-out victory in November. Otherwise, they wouldn't be brazen enough to come out for something this radical.

This is why we must vote for the Republican ticket — no matter who is the VP — in order to preserve the only check valve we have, which is the VETO PEN.

This is an election for Democracy over Marxism.

Haven’t read the entire thread, but do they have the constitutional power to do that?

They are openly expressing their desire to use the playbook of Hugo...

They pretty much have to after Maxine Waters spilled the beans during the testimony of oil executives two weeks ago.

This is probably my sixth or seventh time reading “Atlas Shrugged”. You are correct. It shocked me that it was so coincidental with my reading.

Never in my life did I think I would hear for calls of nationalization of businesses from elected officials in this country.

Never. This frightens and angers me nearly as much as their meddling in military issues. This appalls me.

I cannot believe our country will allow this. I certainly will not, without a fight.

This country is going off the deep end.

It's called socialism.

“My grandson’s geography teacher told the class that the reason why communism hasn’t worked is because it has not been done right.”

I would expect no better out of a product of one of today’s universities. Honest to God, we have let the political left take over everything, and now we are reaping the results. Grandson’s response should be, “They do communism right in Cuba and North Korea.”

Now here is a question for Freepers: Let’s say this passes and the oil refineries defend their property from seizure through legal firearms, thus exercising their Second Amendment rights. Will our police or armed forces fire upon them?

Most will. But there will be a few patriots who will refuse to take part in such an overt unconstitutional act, and will join and defend the oil companies. Especially knowing the Commie Rats are behind it.
