JUNE 13, FLAG DAY AND US ARMY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

The Friday evening, before Flag Day and the United States Army’s 233rd Birthday, saw our enthusiasm high with a continuous stream of honks and waves from passing cars.

No rain ( a change from the recurring Friday night showers this past spring), but a very warm and pleasant night with cooling breezes near dusk, and good camaraderie among the twenty-three FReepers and visitors..

We carried plenty of flags and signs announcing the 233rd Birthday of the United States Army.

The moonbats were restless as June approaches its full moon and a code pinko truck slowly passed us and faded from sight, possibly due to our loud presence.

Most drivers show support with honks, waves and thumbs up. The few that express negative comments are met with loud positive comments by us.

The Big Bus arrived full of soldiers and families, slowed and stopped briefly, before turning into Walter Reed. We received many waves from the soldiers to our chants of USA, USA!

Tonight’s pictures are by Plea Deal.

HAPPY 233rd BIRTHDAY – US ARMY!

FRIDAY EVENING VISITORS:

As usual, some of our visitors were visiting for the first time and several were repeaters who drop by when they are in DC. All are welcome and we enjoy meeting everyone.

Two first time visitors had just finished a visit with a wounded (in Iraq) soldier. They were his aunt from Louisiana and his friend from Houston. We spent some time talking with them about the soldier and his injuries. Their physical presence in DC is important to him and we will include him in our prayers. Our talking to them seemed to reassure them that many Americans greatly care about and support our soldiers.

Bruce and Chris from Indiana joined us as they always do when they are in DC.

Aliesha brought three college interns: Jessica from Ohio, Lauren from Missouri and Tony from Texas. These three are active on their college campuses and they are representative of younger Americans who really care about this country. It is good to have them with us.

Katrina was a first timer who has seen us on previous Friday nights and stopped to find out who we were. BufordP explained our mission and she said she would join us in the future.

Go here. On my homepage you'll see "Boilerplate code to copy and paste at the bottom of every WR AAR:". If you do that then you'll produce this:

...and the links to the rest of the pics can be found here (Mrs. Trooprally) and here (PleaDeal).

BTW, half the pics were taken by Mrs. T and some more were taken by the author himself. Please join me in giving kburi a really hard time about the pitiful AARs he's been writing!

just kidding! You're doing a great job, kburi!

Thanks for the continuing good job you all do in supporting our troops and counter acting the moonbats.

By the way, I see the moonbats have a “baby” banner now. Guess they aren’t strong enough for a MOAB!!
