Adolf Hitler's Aryan theory rubbished by science

The theory of Scandinavian racial purity cherished by Hitler and the Nazis has been rubbished by new scientific research.

The study found that bodies from 2000-year-old burial sites in eastern Denmark contained "as much genetic variation in their remains as one would expect to find in individuals of the present day".

The findings, in an analysis by the University of Copenhagen which has just been published in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology, explodes the Nazis' much cherished concept of a 'superior' Nordic race.

Adolf Hitler cherished the concept of a 'superior' Nordic race

Hitler used pseudo-scientific research to back up claims that northern Europeans could form a Master Race which would lead mankind, and even set up a breeding program between Germans and Norwegians to foster it.

The racist theory, which placed the Master Race at the top of mankind's hierarchy and Jews at the bottom, played a central role in the Holocaust.

But according to the new research, the "concept of a single Scandinavian genetic type, a Scandinavian race that wandered to Denmark, settled there, and otherwise lived in complete isolation from the rest of the world, is a fallacy".

Far from being isolated and 'genetically pure', the study on the burial sites found that Danes mixed with peoples from across the globe.

"It becomes clear that the Danes must have been in contact with other peoples," said scientist Linea Melchior, who analysed DNA from the Bøgebjerggård and Skovgaarde sites.

"One of the Danish burial grounds, which dates back to the iron age also contained the remains of a man who appears to have been of Arabian origin," she added.

Research at another early Danish burial site has unearthed a corpse of Siberian origin.

Both that body and the 'Arabian' body discovered by Linea Melchior were buried in identical fashion to 'locals', showing researchers say "that people from distant parts of the world could be and were absorbed in Danish communities".

"Pytheas (Πυθέας), ca. 380 – ca. 310 BC) was a Greek merchant, geographer and explorer from the Greek colony Massilia (today Marseille, France). He made a voyage of exploration to northwestern Europe around 325 BC. He may have travelled around a considerable part of Great Britain, circumnavigating it between 330 and 320 BC. Pytheas is the first person on record to describe the Midnight Sun, the aurora and polar ice, the first to mention the name Britannia and Germanic tribes and the one who introduced the idea of distant "Thule" to the geographic imagination. He may have been the first Mediterranean observer to distinguish between the Germanic and Celtic "barbarian" peoples of northern and western Europe.[1] Pytheas was not the first Mediterranean mariner to sail up into the North Sea territories and around Great Britain. Trade between Gaul and Great Britain was routine; fishermen and others would travel to Orkney, Norway or Shetland. The Roman Avienus writing in the 4th century mentions an early Greek voyage, possibly from the 6th century BC. A recent conjectural reconstruction of the journey Pytheas documented has him traveling from Marseille in succession to Bordeaux, Nantes, Land's End, Plymouth, the Isle of Man, Outer Hebrides, Orkney, Iceland, Great Britain's east coast, Kent, Helgoland, returning finally to Marseille..." _____________________________________________________________ Although none of Pytheas' own writings have survived, he is referenced by several other ancient writers. He was considered controversial in his day and his contemporaries did not believe his descriptions of Far Northern phenomena. For our purposes he did describe a thriving commerce amongst peoples the Greeks and Romans insisted were primitive barbarians. These 2000 year-old Danish burials would have been 500 years AFTER Pytheas, so I doubt they were nearly as out-of-the-way as we like to think. Darn humans refuse to be pigeonholed!

Friendly question: Doesn’t “Caucasian” come from the Caucas Mountains in Russia?

This study is in itself junk science.

I wouldn’t have thought a burial ground that was only 2000 years old would have provided anything like “conclusive” evidence of anything, aside from the fact that there were dead people buried there.

You would expect a wide genetic variation in such a burial ground: 2000 years doesn’t even bring us back to the time of Julius Caesar, and plenty of useful history happened long before that.

Now, if their study found this variation in a burial ground of, say, 10,000 years age I’d be more impressed.

If you look at man’s pets and livestock, most come from a basic black or very dark original form. All shades and odd shapes are derived from that original form through selective breeding. So I can see how the theory that the black man was the original human form can come about. The question I have...is the “original” man still in existance today in the original form? A hypothetical original black man doesn’t necessarily have to be the characteristic negroid type. I picture a race of wirey humans with long straight coarse black hair, black leathery skin, short legs, hairy bodies, barrel chested, narrow shoulders, large pelvis, and an arab-semite or amerind style nose only larger...as the original form of man. The negroid type is not like this.

Did that 2 million year old man they found in Africa have skin?

1. The real "Aryans" lived in what is now northern India and Afghanistan.

And Iran. Although a large chunk of Persia mixed somewhat with the numerous Greek, Arab, Mongol and Ottoman invaders, the populous northern part (the Caspian shore) namely the regions Gilan and Mazanderan (except some Georgian influx) were largely unaffected.

The Caucasus Mountains (and the region) are partly in Southern Russia, but now are inhabited by the states of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. It’s the area between the Caspian and Black sea, with Iran to the South and Russia to the North.

Algore used pseudo-scientific research to back up claims that northern Americans could cause global warming.

LOL, I know it's off topic, but it just popped into my head so I posted it.

I was just going to say — And Hitler was NOT one himself.

Our son who is a trained linguist and speaks Chinese and Mongolian tells us that the Nordic languages actually have an array of Mongolian and other central Asian roots.

How very funny. I was just about to joke in a reply to your post about White man coming from germs designed by Yakub, and then a quick search on Wikipedia revealed that Yukub was supposed to have been on Patmos. :) Ahh...the white devils.

Nation of Islam... Gotta love it!
