When Bad Things Happen To The Media
Bob Parks: Blaack & Right ^ | 6/13/08 | Bob Parks

I know this may come off as callous and insensitive to some, but it has to be said.

While I have no animus against Tim Russert, I am again in amazement how thoroughly the news world has been turned on its head because of the death of one journalist. One of them.

"Journalists and Politicians..they are the high priests in this country."

You just said a mouthful.

My brilliant late Father used to say that about the Supreme Court. As America was ridding itself of a religious base, he contended that the Supreme Court Justices were the new High Priests. Of course, he was saying that as a lament.

Another thing he used to say all the time was this..."Open the door and all winds blow in." The older I get the more I realize just how brilliant and simple he stated the future of our Country.

People in the way of the Klinton’s have a way of suffering.

a very long line, indeed...but mostly because they pose a future or imminent threat.

But Russert was well known to have all his ducks in a row before an interview or debate. He was not the average empty headed journalist. Well educated, articulate and hard working, he was like a dog with a bone. If he asked a question, you can bet he would keep asking until you gave a real answer. He accepted no brush-over.

He may have had some 'deep' information that someone didn't want coming out. The Chicago Machine is a dirty and determined as it gets.

They pulled some mighty illegal stunts that got JFK the nomination. They were provable but Nixon declined to pursue it because of the damage it would cause the country...unlike the goracles in 2000 who DIDN'T have proof of anything illegal but to hell with everything and put the country through a crippling debacle, making us the laughing stock of the world.

Anyway, Russert was no longer a threat to the hilderbeast, so???

I think I can sum up the concern of media is due to the fact that Tim Russert actually is irreplaceable by anyone else at the network.

I agree with your assessment. NBC News has no bench strength.

Richard Belzer look-a-like David Gregory lacks the testosterone to take on the job.

Andrea Mitchell may be afflicted with a brain degenerative disease as she seems to be getting stupider as she ages.

Chris Matthews should stay where he is on haMaSNBC spouting out his homoerotic Obama blather.

And if the choice came down to Oberfuherer, you'd lose 80% of your Sunday morning 'gets' and you'd be better off just outsourcing the job to some guy in India.

There is no way any reasonable person can find someone already with NBC News to fill the Meet the Press spot.

There fore I think NBC has to go beyond the new division and find someone on the network, people actually like... I guess their only real choice is

Did Obama supporters murder Russert??? Enquiring minds want to know.

I wonder if this rumor will show up on Berry's silly rumor bunking web site?
