I don’t agree that Russert was extremely liberal. He had a liberal bent. But I do agree with the observation that leftist often oddly accuse the media of conservative bias when there is no such thing.

You do realize he’ll probably be replaced with someone who, unlike Russert, won’t even try to be fair.

I'm guessing it will be the lunatic, Keith Olbermann.

Then I leave it to you to kiss and be pals with all the leftists, marxists, communists and Islumic terrorists. Have at it.

Why are you on this tread except to cause trouble. DU is more appropriate for you. They are always looking for trouble makers. Nobody wants to hear negative crap from you right now. Tim was a great family man and you can’t take that away from him even if you try.

Condolences to your family, Mr. Silverback. Be strong for them in this time of sorrow, and know that they’ve got a lot of anonymous friends here at FreeRepublic praying for them.

Rush Limbaugh Statement on Tim Russert's Death:

"It's just a shame. Tim was a regular guy with that perpetual smile he wore naturally all the time. He loved life and got everything he could out of it. Whether it was at dinner here in Florida while his son was taking golf lessons, or on the set of Meet The Press, Tim was always the same with me: genuine. He never condescended to anyone and was the consummate professional. He will be hard to replace."

I’m sure by now that you know he has died and it is true. I agree with you. I know he favored the Dems but I think he was a lovely man and he certainly took good care of his father - I know he had a lot of “roots” here in Cleveland too, having gone to John Carroll University and Cleveland Marshall Law School.

I don’t know why but I just liked listening to his points of view, even though I more often than not disagreed.

My mom came over and I told her. She got goosebumps and was saying “oh no, how horrible”. We were both watching the TV coverage in shock. I mentioned Keith and we both went “Phfft, yuk”.

Cavuto replayed a 2004 interview with Mr. Russert regarding his book about his Dad and I got a little teary. It was a good interview. He seemed to be a great family man.

Such a situation usurps credibility concerns IMO.

Oh, well then you must be better than me.

All those negative numbers by the headings are the number of people who strongly disagree with the post.

Always liked Russert too... worked for Daniel Patrick Monihan (sp?) one of the few Democrats who ever understood the perils of the ‘great society’ programs.

Very sad news. My heart goes out to his family.

We lost our father on father’s day when I was 14 years old and it was painful beyond belief. No time is a good time to lose a father, but on a weekend devoted to fathers, it is especially heart wrenching.

RIP RUSSERT!
