Barack Obama said Thursday at a fundraiser in Chicago that the GOP is trying to make him and his wife Michelle appear "scary" and "too black."
"Theyre going to try to make me into a scary guy. Theyre even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right?" Obama said at an event in the Hyde Park area, according to CNN.
Obama said Republicans were trying to start a drumbeat questioning Obama's patriotism and whether he is "too black."
"I dont know, before I wasnt black enough," Obama said. The Illinois senator then suggested Republicans might say, "'now he might be too black.'"

Sorry Barry, only the Dems make race an issue.
To: The_Republican
He doesn’t get it. It has nothing to do with his race.

Newsflash to the Obamessiah: I don't oppose him and Michelle because of their race. I oppose them on the content of their character and the company they keep.

Well, Michelle you certainly aren’t Goldilocks! (you know too hot, too cold)
I did hear on the radio her calling O Bambi, ‘my baby daddy’. It was in her own words! I guess that’ll be on fightthesmears, too, huh?

I’d sure like to know what his basis for this is. As far as I’ve seen, the GOP has gone out of its way to avoid any mention of his color.
As a matter of fact, the only ones mentioning color are his former church clergy.

What the hell is he talking about? The only ones discussing his blackness are his own party.

I hope this is a sign of things to come. Old Barry playing the race card this early is a sure sign of desperation. If he plays it enough, just maybe America will get sick of it.

Sigh. As far as I'm concerned, the Obamas would make a splendid looking First Family; youthful, handsome, smart, accomplished and the daughters are charming. It's just that looks aren't everything.

“What exactly does he mean by “too black?”
It means he’s trying to play the race card and shut everyone up about Jeremiah Wright and the endless stream of criticism that is his “church.”
He’s wanting the world to take their eyes off of his past racist associations by calling the rest of us racists. Nice guy, eh?
To: The_Republican
How can he be “too black” when he’s only half black? And when conservatives would fall all over themselves to vote for a Michael Steele or J.C. Watts, who are ALL black?
You’re not too black, Obamessiah. You’re too liberal.

You win! That’s the appropriate response as far as surrogates are concerned.
