Yet no one seems to mind punching a gazillion holes into Texas soil and the Gulf of Mexico!

His stance on ANWAR alone, causes me to want to stay home in November. Only the radical history of BHO will get me to drag myself to the election booth.

I had a conversation about drilling in ANWR yesterday with my Congressman’s office.

I knew from the get-go that I was out of touch, because one of the first things they told me was that “Congr. Moron’s constituents don’t want drilling.”

But, I protested, Congr. Moron’s constituents (by the way, I’m one of them) have Metrorail, Metrobus, bike paths into DC, and other options that folks in the midwest states like Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wyoming - indeed most of the United States - simply don’t and never will have because this is such a large country. How selfish and self-centered and naive can Congr. Moron’s voters be, to ignore the fact that most Americans do not live in a dense urban Northeast metropolis of short commuting distances and several viable transportation options.

“Well, maybe they should be” said the aide. “Maybe they should make those choices and build more public transport.” “In Wyoming? In Missouri? From where? To where? That’s not an option for most of America.”

“Congr. Moron’s constituents are concerned about the environment and don’t want drilling.”

And downhill from there.

This is the thickheaded, irrational, and selfish arrogance that America is up against.

They will let us all starve for the sake of a small piece of land? I don’t buy it. This is total BS.

Methinks ANWR is, for the most part, merely a symbol to engage in political combat over. One side seeks to protect a nice area they’ll never see, while the other seeks to extract from it enough oil to make only a small dent in our consupmption; these positions are overblown into grounds for a huge knock-down drag-out fight (which I believe is the actual goal of the discussion).

In the meantime, nobody gives a hoot that the value of the dollar is, in fact, plumetting - a far more real problem than inflammatory rhetoric over fuel which is still far cheaper than in most other nations (a Belgian brewer is ‘bout to buy Budweiser fer Bob’s sake!).

And therein lies the heart of the matter. The Libtard DhimmiRats, in cahoots with the enviro-whackos and tree huggers would much rather place the preservation of a barren, frozen trundra over the security of the US.
Unless the great mass of the population gets riled up, it will remain this way.
We must secure our energy future. That includes drilling ANWR, the norther tier states, both coasts, the Gulf of Mexico; developing additional refinery capacity; boosting research into alternative energy sources; expanded use of biomass solutions, solar, wind, hydro and geothermal.

We have the muscle; we need the will.

I believe this area should be kept pristine

The idea that drilling for oil will permanently destroy a wilderness is wrong. When the drilling is over and the oil is gone, mother nature will reclaim the area so that even the sensitive eyes of John McCain will not be offended.

It turns my stomach into a thousand knots and I have nearly puked to think I have to vote for this liberal stinking loser to keep Obama out of office. Maybe we should just all vote for Obama and give America what is so badly wants, socialism. And then let them see exactly what socialism is going to bring. It sickens me that John Stinking McCain is ALL the damned republicans could come up with to beat this slug Obama. I am just so pissed off that I cannot see straight. I HATE McCain. But what freaking choice do we have? None. Him or Obama. Great freaking choices.

These people have McCain in their back pocket. I’m sure he’s made a promise not to drill to them or groups like them.

I hear no environmentalists crying when the pristine landscapes of the Midwest are littered with thousands of massive windmills. Of course this is flyover country were us bitter hicks are clinging to our religion and guns and are not as enlightened as the liberal elites.

Imagine a country that is rich in natural resources, but the great majority of the resources are located in beautiful, scenic places. So what does the country do, get those resources or leave them untapped and suffer the consequences? Can anyone imagine any other country in the world not tapping their natural resources? It’s sheer stupidity. And furthermore what if we did find a trillion barrels of oil in the Grand Canyon (I’ve been there twice, the place is beyond the description of natural beauty)? Don’t drill there? Again that would be sheer stupidity.

It’s long past time to collar a few of these asshats and put them on a big ol’ aero liner to Alaska.

Time for show and tell.

The Only Posative thing about the Idiots in Govt. who resist Drilling, is that They and all Democrats in America will also suffer the results of their stupidity...
All the Morons who follow the High Priest Al Gore and Drink His Co2 kool-aid...will have to pay the same as We do at the Gas Pumps.
They not only will destroy the economy for Us, But they will destroy it for themselves.
I have read that there is already wells there, drilled in the 1980’s and capped off, ready to pump oil now. and that there is enough Oil in ANWR to stop our dependency on Arab oil for 60 Years.
Gas should cost $1.49 a Gallon But Democrats are destroying the American Economy and the Stupid Sheeple of that Party deserve what they voted for.

the oil would be flowing by now.

If the natural gas and ANWR were developed at the time, 1976, it would be past tense, would have been flowed along with Prudhoe and blown out the tailpipe by now and there still wouldn't be coal to liquid plants.

I once saw a web page I believe sponsored by the state of Alaska and it showed the actual drill site and a four direction view and it was rocks as far as you can see in every direction, another story from an Alaska paper I think said the Russians were paying the enviros to sue the US government using the environmental laws to block oil exploration. A couple of weeks ago I heard a representative who had recently flown over the drill site said their was not even a blade of grass growing within 70nm miles of the site. So much for grassing Caribou.

Sen. John McCain said this week he would not drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for the same reason he "would not drill in the Grand Canyon...

I would like to be able to vote for this old coot in November, only because the alternative is unspeakable. But every time he uses this insufferably insulting and stupid statement, I remember why I keep pitching his fundraising letters in the trash.

I don't expect MCCain to be exceptionally intelligent. Just a bit above average in judgment will do. But this ignorant obduracy garnished with assinine arrogance is simply indigestible.
