Certification of live birth isn't good enough to get a drivers license in La Yep. It certifies nothing as far as I can tell. No way it would get you a passport.

I hate to say it but your text is shopped better then their's was it's cleaner clearer and looks more original then what they are passing off as real. Yours is even blended better so that it doesn't have the white outlines, or fuzz to the letters one gets from inserting the words into a picture via different layers.
Anyone looking at this zoomed in version can clearly see that in both cases the lettering appears to have been photo shopped in.
By the way for anyone that cares this image was viewed at 800% zoom.

Someone simply scanned or photographed (with your standard 8.5 pixel camera) the document and then called it up through Photo shop to change its size for use on the website where it's posted.
Frankly I'd use Microsoft's stuff to do that part of the job ~ faster, easier, and it looks just as good for Internet purposes (the freebie they issued with FrontPage).

including the whomever posted this to Kos.I agree.
They must be getting scared if this is what they had to pull out of their hat.

I had had my son's birth certificate but no longer since he's of age and needs it for his own proofs and documentation. I don't recall if it had a 'race' item on it.
But let's cut to the chase. In the '60s there were few hospitals in Honolulu; Queen's, Kaiser, Kapiolani and Straub Clinic (which wasn't an operating hospital till the '70s). Shriners is here but that's for kids with orthopedic problems. One other is Ft Shafter VA hospital, unlikely that Obama or Dunham would have been delivered there. So we're down to three.
I'd check admissions for the mother instead of trying to track down the infant's birth certificate. It's doubtful that the mother or father had funds to pay the bill, so I'd check accounts receivable for the grandparents names, the date, services provided and settlement.

The two documents have different pixel counts and "sizes". Never forget "size".
Back in the early days of electronic photo enhancement a guy showed me a picture of the Pope standing there with his hand on the Hildabeast's a$$.
Looked totally real.
In depth examination would not have revealed the extent of the fakery.
This is why non-contexted photographs are rapidly falling out of favor in evidentiary trails.

"Only if that seal at the top is raised, not merely printed." Maybe the one they put online is embossed and they just ran across it with a pencil so we could see it. :-)
I think this is all craziness the reaction this has generated.

The original image was already compressed - I had to reproduce the effect of compression on the new text. If I had compressed a couple more times it would look the same.

I mentioned it because when my son went to get his drivers license, I gave him the one the hospital sent me. When he brought it up to the DMV they turned him away. I had to sent a money order to Austin, Tx. to get a true copy of his birth certificate. I'm sure they didn't send me the original, just a stamped copy of the original. :)
A certificate of live birth is not the same as a birth certificate in the eyes of the law.
Except when one wants to run for president that is.

I mused that no Obama handler would allow KOS to post this, but usmcobra pointed out that the exact image is on Barack’s site.
Strange they’d give it to KOS first.

Is there any way you can discern the font of the date on the document to the rest of the text?
I only ask because it was in upper and lower case and the rest is upper.

Addenda: I just took a look a the published Certificate of Live Birth that's the center of this exchange.
That's bogus.
No hospital, no attending physician, no time of birth (I remember well the time of my son's delivery) and it was printed in color. My son was born in the '80s and it was standard form black and white.

Clarification: the image I grabbed from the Kos site (the link in the story, above) was already compressed - and at the highest compression rate photoshop allows, btw. (Why would they do that? Why not post a high quality image? To make the text as blurry as possible, looking scanned. But look how much worse the printed seal is compared to the rest.)
To: txflake
but usmcobra pointed out that the exact image is on Baracks site.Let's wait and see how long he keeps it up there. If he discovers this dog won't hunt - he'll take it down.
Strange theyd give it to KOS first.
Very strange indeed, which is what makes me suspect it's a fake.

There are a lot of people like me, walking around without an original birth certificate. I have my naturalization papers and a U.S. Passport but no birth certificate and I have never been denied a driver’s licensee or any gov. document.

Definitely not a birth certificate. Mine is taken off of microfische -- and you can tell it is real.

they would have written "Kenyan" rather than "African". Was there even a "Kenya" in 1961?
