Daily Kos has obtained a copy of Obama's "certification of live birth."
All of the information is what we have been told before - name, birth date, etc.. His mother's race is listed as "Caucasian," his father as "African." No middle name of Muhammad, no first name of "Barry," no last name of "Dunham." He's listed as "Barack Hussein Obama II," not "Jr."
(Interestingly, in the lower right hand corner is the backwards reflection of a stamp, "June 6 or G, 2007". Did someone request or process this record about a year ago?)
Site creator Markos Moulitsas mentions in the comments the campaign released it to him.
(Also, for astrologers, the time of birth was 7:24 p.m.)
Next time you get one of those e-mails suggesting Obama has a different "real name," send people to this post or that document.
UPDATE: I'm getting some, "Jim, this looks modern," e-mail messages. As Ed notes,
When someone requests a validated copy of their birth certificate, they dont get a photocopy of the original. They get a fresh certificate with a seal showing that it came from the official registrar, in most states. They keep the info in a computer and produced validated copies on request.
This is a validated copy of the birth certificate, with which Obama could get a passport, register to vote, etc etc. Its perfectly acceptable.
Obama himself probably has a dog-eared yellowing copy in a desk drawer somewhere; this document is what he or someone authorized by him was given by the state out of its records. Barring some vast conspiracy within the Hawaii State Department of Health, there is no reason to think his birth certificate would have any different data.
OK. I’ve been thinking about it. I don’t know about Hawaii, but it seems to me that if they released a birth certificate it should either be a) a photo copy of the original record, with an embossed seal on it; or b) a new certificate, certified as a genuine copy with an embossed seal.
If, as it appears, this is a fairly modern version, then it is not a photocopy of the original. Yet it is said to be a photocopy.
What state would make a NEW version of the original and THEN PHOTOCOPY it? That doesn’t make sense.
Of course we don’t know that it is a photocopy, since it has been digitally photographed and posted on Daily Kos, which is a lying leftist website sponsored by a corrupt manipulator, George Soros.
I think we need more evidence than this.
And we come back to my original question, as well. Why, if this is what the real certificate says, has Obama been refusing to release it to legitimate inquiries for more than a year?
Yes, this is not a birth certificate from 1961.
If it was the original from 1961, it would be a form with lines that have had names TYPED into them with a typewriter, or manually written in.
This is a laser printout of the information on record... assuming its real and not a photoshop thing to begin with.
This is not a photocopy of an original birth certificate from 1961.
No way is this “original”. It’s a well known fact that BO! signed his own BC then healed the sick and blind in the hospital before leaving..../s
OK, you're on.
I don't take credit cards, please send cash.
Most documents that I have seen from that era would have described their races as Caucasian and Negro respectively.
If we vote for Barack Hussein Obama, does his father become president?
I was born in Hawaii and had to order a copy of my birth certificate not too long ago. It looks exactly like this one. Anyone chasing this as a fake is wasting time unless they want to say someone inside the Dept of Vital Statistics in Hawaii was paid off to issue this or something along those lines.
I realized when my oldest needed one for driver’s ed that we didn’t have original birth certificates for the two children born in Texas. Fortunately, the instructor accepted the hospital certificate as proof of age, and we got the birth certificate in time for her to take it to the DMV for her permit. I guess I just forgot to order them back in 1991 and 1994!

Adoption? Name change?
Sex change??
So that raises the question, what else did they change? For instance, if Baraka legally changed his name to Barack and perhaps dropped the "Muhammed," would they also change that?
We'd have to check, but I think the "race" box would have been filled out as the formerly correct "negro," or the currently correct "black" on the original record. "African-American" was a later term, and "African" means little or nothing. That could include Arabs or Afrikaans or who knows what--anyone born in Africa.
Yep, this is how they do it nowadays. I had to order a copy of my birth certificate from Virginia a couple years ago, and I got a freshly computer-printed document with an official seal on it instead of some dog-eared copy from 1966. My wife still has a photocopy of her original birth certificate from 1974, but reproductions are printed at the time they’re requested.

There are two ways that one can be born as an American citizen. Jus Solis is the first. This is Latin for Law of Soil. Essentially, if you are born on American soil, you are a US citizen. the second way that one can be born as a US citizen is if either of your parents is a US citizen. This is known as Jus Sanguinis. That is LAtin for Law of Blood.
Whether Dumbo was born in the USA or not is irrelevent. His mother was a US citizen and therefore so is he.
I have no idea about that part of it, I just know that besides the personal info, the posted image looks identical to what I am looking at in front of me. (Note: I don’t think this is at all what an original birth certificate looks like-—haven’t seen mine in years-—but it IS what is issued when requesting a duplicate.)
Hawaiian Monk Seal
Verifies that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961
I learned that in my high school government class...in a private school many moons ago, btw
I’d be interested in some things I’ve seen on other birth certificates, like the age and nationality(citizenship status) of both parents.
If you write the county of your birth and ask for an official copy of your birth certificate these days, what you get is what the picture above claiming to be Fauxbama's BC shows. You want to actually see the original certificate (or a copy thereof) you will have to go visit the county records and most likely scan microfilm/fiche or possibly computer scans... you might actually find an original paper copy in some places.. but most counties have moved their old stuff to some sort of film or digital anymore.
In Hawaii birth certificates are not public records, so you as joe schmoe can't go in and search for Fauxbama's BC.
An original BC might look something like this:
And that's what most people are used to seeing.. but if you were to write your county and asked for a certified copy of your BC these days, you aren't going to get a photocopy of the cert with an embossed seal like you used to.. this sort of copy became useless post 9/11 with new security laws. Now if you ask for a copy of your BC from your county of birth, you get something like what the picture above shows.. a computer printout on some sort of watermarked paper with all the birth cert info... but it is not a photocopy of the original certificate.
