It just keeps getting worse and worse. Morality in this country continues to slip, and liberals continue to take more and more control. I wonder if it will be too late if America wakes up.

More laws to make innocent people criminals. I believe it is legal to carry concealed in Washington with a permit... unless you are walking your dog late at night in a public park. Then you become a criminal and will have your CCW permit revoked.

How would they feel about banning free speech on city property?

I live 3 hours to the west of Seattle. This just gives me one more reason to stay out of the city.

I spent two months in a hospital there last summer. My Brides car was parked in the covered and guarded parking, and broken into.

Had I caught the jerk, I would have gotten out of my wheelchair and used it to kill him or at least cripple. My heart doctors wouldn’t have liked that though. ;>) Taking out a guys kneecaps is not difficult and the pond scum will remember you for the rest of his miserable life. ;>)

I hope he made good use of my underwear and toiletries. ;>)

I constantly ask myself, how do morons keep getting elected to office? You get what you ask for. (Though being a FReeper, I’m sure your an exception.) How sad.

How about...he's the social equivalent of gangrene, and the human equivalent of a doily.

The ACLU is going to have fun on this one. At the tax payers expense.

RCW 9.41.290
State preemption.

The state of Washington hereby fully occupies and preempts the entire field of firearms regulation within the boundaries of the state, including the registration, licensing, possession, purchase, sale, acquisition, transfer, discharge, and transportation of firearms, or any other element relating to firearms or parts thereof, including ammunition and reloader components. Cities, towns, and counties or other municipalities may enact only those laws and ordinances relating to firearms that are specifically authorized by state law, as in RCW 9.41.300, and are consistent with this chapter. Such local ordinances shall have the same penalty as provided for by state law. Local laws and ordinances that are inconsistent with, more restrictive than, or exceed the requirements of state law shall not be enacted and are preempted and repealed, regardless of the nature of the code, charter, or home rule status of such city, town, county, or municipality.

[1994 sp.s. c 7 § 428; 1985 c 428 § 1; 1983 c 232 § 12.]<<

ACLU won’t take it. It’s clearly against state law. I wonder how many cops will try to enforce it knowing it’s illegal. And they all know.

LOL! Good luck enforcing that unless they're strip-searching every citizen.

Wait...

Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske (ker-lih-KOW'-skee) says the mayor's order will help protect people at civic events.

Seattle must be a really peaceful place - no gangbangers. Maybe they just have a different class of gangbangers - ones who obey the law and would never violate a city order.

If anyone takes this “decree” to court it will be thrown out.
Of course not if it goes to the (th in Calif but even they would have to throw it out. If the 9th court of appeals doesn’t then the Supremes would do so.

Hey, Criminals!!

Good news from Mayor Nickels.

It’s open season on unarmed citizens. Mug, rob, and shoot to your heart’s content! They also won’t prosecute you, so no bag limit and no size restrictions!!

CCW was one of the last good aspects of Seattle, and it helped keep crime in check. Lord knows the Mayor kept the police in bondage so they wouldn’t ‘harass’ the ‘poor victims who have to resort to crime to survive.’

I’m so glad I left that leftist hell hole.

You'd have to know some of the seassholes who live in that city to understand how they keep voting for such tyrants and tyrannical measures (like the monorail).

Talk about useful idiots.

What is not included in the article is that “all city property” includes every sidewalk, street, etc.

The COP says it will reduce problems at “civic events”, but the pending regulation supposedly covers every square foot of city property. Can’t say about the shooting incidents, but an armed citizenry has a chance to defend itself. And more regs won’t stop gangbangers, who don’t read anyway.

Sounds as if they’ve been waiting to spring on gun control in Seattle.
