Global Temperature Dives in May
University of Alabama-Huntsville ^ | Anthony Watts

Confirming what many of us have already noted from the anecdotal evidence coming in of a much cooler than normal May, such as late spring snows as far south as Arizona, extended skiing in Colorado, and delays in snow cover melting, (here and here), the University of Alabama, Huntsville (UAH) published their satellite derived Advanced Microwave Sounder Unit data set of the Lower Troposphere for May 2008.

It is significantly colder globally, colder even than the significant drop to -0.046°C seen in January 2008.

The global ∆T from April to May 2008 was -.195°C

The mantra now has changed, it’s not Global Waring anymore, now it’s Global Climate Change,

They will attempt to float that lie but carbon dioxide doesn't cause global warming nor does it cause global cooling. It's a trailing indicator of warming due to degassing of the oceans.

The MSM will ignore this. Instead, we'll get the following...

Heat Advisory, Excessive Heat Watch

Springtime Sizzler: Scorching Heat To Roast NYC

Storms bring new round of destruction to Midwest

Tornado tears through swath of Minnesota

And GISS will unveil their tortured, adjusted numbers that do not correlate with UAH, RSS, and even Hadley. There won't be a word about any adjustments. Yet, the media will focus on the GISS numbers and proclaim this one of the 10 hottest Mays in history.

Tomorrow we will be back to coming ice age...

Actually, if you look at the available data, i.e., ice cores, which show a repeating cycle, you may not be far off. Current Sun spot data shows we are in a period of very low activity. It appears we could be headed into another "Maunder Minimum", or a period of very low Sun spot activity which has in the past been linked to below normal temps worldwide.

The Maunder Minimum, 1645 to 1715, set off a period of temps that were considerably below normal. There was also the "Dalton Minimum" from 1795 to 1830 and the "Sporer Minimum" from 1420 to 1570. Each of these periods set off temps that were considerably below normal and they correspond directly to periods of low Sun spot activity.

During the Dalton Minimum there was one year that was so cold it was called "the year without a summer" because late frosts killed crops in the NE USA and it snowed in June. All three periods are associated with cycles of low Sun spot activity, exactly like what is being observed right now.....

This really worries me. Compared to Obama, McCain is definitely the lesser of two evils. But seeing him singing “Kumbaya” in the White House with the enviroweenies who are preventing us from exploiting our own natural resources is a pretty scary thought. Hey John- what about those 35,000 scientists who signed the petition refuting global warming? Oh, your in the tank for Gore? Never mind.

Right, the earth gets warmer, the earth gets cooler. In middleages because it was warm, folks bathed more and socialized more triggering ecumenical alarm of declining morales. Fjords of Norway caused by advancing and retreating glaciers. Global warming is a monumental stupidity that will be looked back on with the same disdain accorded spontaneous generation.

Lesson is that if you say anything often enough most people will believe you.

Of course it is a lie. But that does not matter to these people, anymore than the truth of an individual like Barack Hussein Obama matters. They want people to get caught up in the emotion of it and thus become emotionally enslaved to it.
