Jane Drury voted last year in an election in Stonington, Conn. The only problem is, she died eight years ago.
Her daughter Jane Gumpel thought someone must have goofed.
I was surprised because this is not possible, she said.
But it did happen. The town clerks record clearly shows Drurys vote, marked by a horizontal line poll workers put next to her name. And it turns out, Drury isnt the only voter to apparently cast a ballot from the grave.
[snip]
8,558 deceased people who were still registered on Connecticuts voter rolls. They discovered more than 300 of them appeared somehow to have cast ballots after they died.
We have one person who appeared to have voted 17 times since he died, Dufresne said.
Dufresne said there is no evidence of any election fraud,

I guess there’s not really “evidence” unless they catch you red-handed, but it’s pretty damn suggestive.
I think 6 or 7 people showed up at a St. Louis polling place and cast 37 votes.
My Grandaddy, who made it to 98 years old, voted republican til the day he died. Then he voted democrat.
When they claim there is no evidence of election fraud in the face of clear evidence one can interpret it as it's organized fraud on the part of one of the 2 political parties...so how did dead person vote 17 times? $100 says democrat.
Proof Positive that requiring people to present identification cards at the polling stations is a denial of the rights of minority groups, (or are the dead a majority group?)
Think the dead Alderman voting was the best! LOL.....
Gee, I wonder what party the dead are voting for?
Another product of our public education system. Honestly, how can these lamebrains make such statements?
Voting Democrat from the grave...typical Democrat action.
There is a worldview called “pragmatism” that believes just that -
as long as the end goals are “noble”, any means required to achieve those goals is allowed.
Islam is one big example of a pragmatist worldview.
IIRC, more people are currently alive than have died in all of history...so the dead would technically be a minority...
I’m sure that this is really hard to prosecute. I mean, how many times have you ever even SEEN a dead person voting, much less trying to arrest one. /s
The dead and the dumb vote democrat.
” the potential for fraud is alive and well “
....potential my foot!...the graveyard vote is a basic part of the Dem get-out-the-vote effort in every city....right along with the illegal immigrant vote and the felon vote....why do you think they raise so much hell over laws requiring positive ID before voting?
Makes you wonder what real evidence would look like.
On a related topic, has anyone ever suggested that we require the signature on a request for an absentee ballot to be notarized?
A notary is supposed to verify identification. A notarization could be forged, but adding this requirement might cut down on fraud in absentee ballot requests.
But of course no one thinks about setting up a sting operation to see who exactly shows up at the polling place claiming to be a “dead person”.
