WARREN, Mich. -- Police said 20 to 30 men who brutally attacked and robbed a motorist Saturday night may also be responsible for several other violent crimes that took place the same day.
Four people were taken into custody for questioning after a motorist was beaten unconscious.
Police said the incident took place when Andy Kauffman, 29, and his wife, Angelina, were driving on North River Road when more than two dozen men wearing ball caps and baggy shorts spread out across the street and blocked traffic.
Kauffman tried to drive past them and someone threw a brick in his window. Kauffman stopped his car and got out to see what happened.
"At that point at least 12 of the subjects jumped on him, beating and kicking him several times to the point where he was unconscious," Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel said. "A second man then got out of the car and also was attacked, but not nearly as bad as the first individual."
A short time later, police were called to a gas station nearby for a fight.
A man who was using the pay phone was beaten. He was not seriously injured, police said.
Police said there were several incidents within a few hours and they fear the same group of attackers was involved.

Racial descriptions unnecessary. Anyone who lives in or near a large metropolitan area KNOWS the descriptions. We also know, from the media and from many politicians, that it is NOT the perps’ fault. Rather they are “acting out” due to a legacy of discrimination, racism, lack of opportunity, blah, blah, blah. I am always surprised to learn of white people who live in or travel through Detroit. Why do it?

The only reason they are under-represented in the crime statistics is the inherent racism in the system. The Man wants to keep innocent blacks down, and so refuses to prosecute Carthaginians. It's all a big conspiracy. Everyone knows about it.
The stupid part was getting out. When they threw a brick through his window, he should have accelerated - right over anyone any his way.

Lousy reporting! North River Rd. is in Mt. Clemens........and I suspect the incident probaby occured in the area between Gratiot and the Gibraltar Trade Center close to downtown Mt. Clemens.

The title says Warren but if I'm not mistaken, North River Rd. is in Mt. Clemens isn't it? Or is there one in Warren too?

I am totally familiar with that area. Thats why I question the facts in the story. N. River Rd. is Mt. Clemens but the article says Warren and I'm not aware of a N. River Rd. in Warren.
N. River Rd. heads east from Gratiot in downtown Mt. Clemens..........
