How an Independent gets elected President

As the price of GAS is the subject of every conversation and the effects have stretched far and wide to every corner of this great country, we are desperately in need of relief. I received an e-mail today referring to a earlier post on Free Republic regarding the Democrats keeping the price of gas inflated and attached to the bottom of the e-mail was a piece about how the price of gas in Venezeula is 12 cents a gallon. It also went on to say about the possibility of gas in this country being around 53 cents a gallon in the US, if all of the avenues available to us were utilized. The democrats have stopped FREE ENTERPRISE in the oil industry and we are paying the price. This country is being run into financial ruin from the price of gas, which has spun into the prices of food, airline tickets, etc. It's hard to find an area that has not been affected. SIDELINE: I just figured my gas cost as a "pay cut" and it comes to about $10,000. this year (I'm a commuter). How many can take a cut in pay resulting to $10,000 or more (if in sales). THIS WILL ALLOW AN INDEPENDENT to be elected President with a platform and plan to reduce the cost of gas. We don't need to make the Muslim Countries any richer!!!

The election is 5 months away, your INDEPENDENT, whoever that might be, has NO MONEY, NO PARTY TO BACK THEM, NO ORGANIZATION, NO CHANCE.

BESIDES THAT CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR OFFICE ALREADY HAVE A PLAN TO REDUCE THE COST OF GAS.

SORRY FOR ALL THE CAPS, BUT YOU SEEM TO LIKE THEM IN YOUR POST, SO I ASSUMED YOU ARE HARD OF HEARING

gas tax is right around 54 cents a gallon in these parts. That’d mean the independent has the hypothetical means to produce free gas.

People who wail about the price of gas are demagogues.

Even at current levels the average car uses about $2500 in gasoline. $2500 is nice, but it is no ones biggest expense. In fact most of those biggest expenses are government expenses. Let us conservatives talk about those first and not join the crybabies who would rather criticize the assorted capitalists who find a way to deliver gasoline to us where and when we decide we want it.

Oh yeah, name that independent? We have a nation comprised of a lot of idiots who believe the oil company is the problem, not Congress. Even if an independent were elected do you honestly believe that would solve all of the problems? If we had a dictator that would be the case, but not in our form of government. No the real races this year are the ones for Congress and Senate. We will be stuck with a terrible President this election, just a matter of which one. I'll hedge my bet with John McCain.

Even if a third-party candidate did get elected, they would have no one in the houses to support them. Don't you think the Reps and Dems would ban together to destroy a third-party President? I'm sure they would. Nothing good would get done, only bad. And the third-party would get the blame.

No, we need to take our party back.
