WASHINGTON - Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, becoming the first black candidate to lead a major party into a campaign for the White House.
Vanquished rival Hillary Rodham Clinton swiftly signaled an interest in joining the ticket as his running mate.
Obama arranged a victory celebration in St. Paul, Minn., at the site of this summer's Republican National Convention an in-your-face gesture to Sen. John McCain, who will be his opponent in the race to become the nation's 44th president.

er the polls are still open
the AP are so desperate to ahve their darling the nominee they are trying to call the election before it’s ended again
only this morning they were saying Hillary is conceeding
MSM are right in this for oabma and this just yet again shows it
“We’re gonna party, party, party like it’s 1968”
The Clinon’s beloved MSM is writing her off faster than you can shake a stick.
the moonbats are already out in force (I work not far from Xcel Center)
there are actually women in homemade costumes “Obama Mommas”.
I was considering going to touch his garment and be healed of my smoking addiction.
The exit polls mus be in her favor.
Keep smoking. It’s better than the cure.
I’m still willing to bet she ends up as the nominee.
Stay out of the hotel kitchen bro’.
Me too.
I don’t think that the clintoons can get this close to regaining 1600 PA Ave. and walk away without a shot fired.
I wonder if there’s going to be coke at his party.
Is this a new version of the same AP story that Clinton’s campaign has said is false?
We are NOT witnessing the end of Hillary - what we are really witnessing is an out and out media war against her.
Can I just say this... What is with so many here at FR that they are giddy at this? Stop and think for a minute - once Hillary is gone, who are these same reporters going to turn against? They are going to pull out all the stops, just as they are doing against her today. Frankly, it should scare the HECK out of EVERYONE! I’m no fan of Hillary’s, but I fear that Obama is unstoppable with the amount of love the media has for him...
I’ve despised the clintoons for 16+ years and somehow barry is more frightening to me.
The $itch is Dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............
I am with you FRiend. An obama presidency is downright scary to think about.
I think back of him giving hillary the finger in a couple of his speeches, what an absolutely arrogant symbol for the first black man to achieve such prestige to exhibit.
“What is with so many here at FR that they are giddy at this?”
I think a lot of people everywhere has bought into the drip drip Obama momentum ultimate nominee media line.
