MY COMMENT:

Even if McCain had Ronald Reagan himself as VP I just can't get excited about him as POTUS.... I think McCain needs to WITHDRAW from the race and allow conservatives to pick a CONSERVATIVE candidate to defeat Obama..

Having said all this.. I don’t know what I will do come November... normally I would just “hold my nose” and vote for the “R”... but I just can’t see that happening this time.. I am sick and tired of the LIBERAL wing of the Republican Party telling us conservatives to “hold your nose and vote”

Exactly, it's not like McQueeg cares what anybody else thinks and a conservative willing to accept a VP slot under him only taints their own name and gains nothing.

A better question is who should be the POTUS nominee?

I’m thinking that after the convention in Denver, at some point, some shoe will drop with Obama that will be so bad that the Dems are going to have to replace him as a candidate like they did for the New Jersey senatorial race a few years back. That person will probably be Hillary. If they do that, then we will take the cue, and we will replace our candidate with Fred Thompson or some other good conservative.

..I think I could win in November--the Democrats are that messed up.

I'm thinking that McCain will choose someone who reflects the re-alignment in the GOP--meaning to the left...

For me, the VP nominee needs to be pro-family, pro-victory, pro-border control, anti-taxes, pro-individual responsibility, telegenic, articulate, experienced in domestic and foreign policy issues, and relatively young (like, under 60). S/he needs to be able to step into the Presidency on a moments notice.

Who fits that bill? Probably no one fits it all. I could accept Romney, Thompson, Pence, Coburn, Cornyn, Kyl, Kasich, Hunter, and probably others I can’t remember right now.

I would have a hard time accepting Lindsay Graham or Charlie Crist, or Sarah Palin or Bobby Jindal. I think Palin and Jindal are potentials for down the road, though.

Hey, thanks for the link! I did take advantage of it to choose my guy for VP, and I sent the link on to my husband’s father in NJ, (land of democrats).

His father has told us he and all his friends are voting Republican. They’re not happy with the dems at all.

My choice for a VP to counter-balance the putrifying liberal-in-conservative’s clothing McCainiac would be the honorable Duncan Hunter. Unfortunately, it seems increasingly apparent that the limp-wristed liberal-lite Republican Party no longer wants a real conservative in position of authority within their squalid political inner sanctum. A pox on all their houses.

Audrina Patridge, well, maybe not, but I would like to see Gov Sarah Palin or Gen David Petraeus.
