Will keep this short.
Networks preparing for Hillary to (finally) quit in speech Tuesday night.
Will be from NY, Staffers being told to turn in expenses, resumes being FedExed to Obama and other state/local campaigns.
Staffers at one network recalled from lunches to prepare.
Campaign staffers being told to go home.
One network had long conference call among suits last night, followed by conference call between tech types to set up remotes, back-hauls, break-ins, etc.
Union technicians, cameramen, audio, video engineers, etc. told to expect overtime.

From Associated Press RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton will give her post-primary speech in New York Tuesday night, a rare departure from the campaign trail. Staffers who have worked for her on he ground in Puerto Rico, South Dakota and Montana have been invited to attend the event or go home for further instructions, campaign aides said. The New York senator had no other events Tuesday. She planned to address AIPAC Wednesday in Washington.
From "The Atlantic" Clinton Campaign staffers and former campaign staffers are being urged by the Clinton campaign's finance department to turn in their outstanding expense receipts by the end of the week. That's a sign, to them, that the campaign wants to get its affairs in order soon. If Clinton were staying in the race, there'd be no real reason to collect these receipts now; she'd still be raising and spending money from the same primary campaign account. The campaign is in arrears to the tune of about $11 million.
From one network:
"The former first lady's campaign announced that she would hold an election night "celebration" in her home state of New York, not in the final voting states of Montana or South Dakota."
The Politico website reported that far-flung members of Clinton's travelling staff had been summoned back to New York for Tuesday evening and told their roles on the campaign are ending.
Might be the Vanity Fair hit piece that turned the tide.
You may be right, but why would she do that? What does she stand to benefit from that? I guess she believes after all this that the party will come running to her when Obama loses?
Not saying you are wrong. I’m just trying to understand the logic of her doing it.
To my mind, she’s ‘Gored’ her self, or ‘Kerry’d’ herself. I could, and probably am, very wrong, since liberalism and logic don’t comport.
I wonder if anyone told Hillary yet?
You know she will be in denial till 2024.
Must have been that “vast left wing conspiracy” that did her in!
I don’t think so. It’s one thing to be elected senator and get your party’s nomination, it’s another to get elected president. Ask John Kerry or Algore. Between whites who won’t vote for him simply because he’s black and whites who have been scared off by Wright, etc. he can’t get elected.
Count me in, too. There’s nothing here that can’t also be explained by the campaign switching gears for the end of primaries. A lot of this is probably happening in the Obama camp as well.
If she’s getting her affairs in order, it could just as easily be to dig in for a fight in the courts and on the convention floor. Her campaign is in debt as is, and any “nonessential personnel” would be getting the axe no matter what her plans are.
A Belgian beer would be appropriate for a surrender party..
Somewhat off topic but I have a question. Do you think the Michelle Obama “Whitey” tape exsists?
Ditto. Add in that voice, and it makes me nauseous.

And she walks to the podium, pauses, and screams Psych! Then she lobs the first of her nuclear hand grenades at the Obama campaign, and throws her arms into the air to make a symbolic “V for Victory” gesture.
Hope beats eternal...Many of the Clinton SDs can also change their minds at the dropo of a hat. The Dems are stuck with Obama. Stealing the nomination from him now would be worse than losing the election.
Great posting!
I suspect she does believe she’s the presumptive nominee in 2012 if McCain beats Obama. Personally, I think she’s wrong, as she’ll be old news in four years and the Democrats will be looking for a more conventional candidate who can appeal to Republicans who will probably be dissatisfied with the McCain Presidency.
I do think, though, that she wouldn’t have stayed in even this long if she didn’t think she had something up her sleeve, some prospect of winning at the convention. It’s possible that something was the full seating of the Michigan and Florida delegates, which would leave her fresh out of options now, but it was always obvious how that was going to turn out.
My theory is that she’s hearing more apprehension about Obama from the super delegates than we’re hearing. Anything else would make her continuing even after North Carolina seem awfully irrational.
Prepare to be ‘stuned”. This won’t happen. It would be like asking a rattlesnake to go against it’s instinct. As far as I know no on has trained a rattlesnake to ‘kiss’ a bunny.....
Hey! Some of us could be trying to eat while blogging!!!!! Have a little compassion!
Beside the awful cackles and finger pointing, her Bobbling Head drives one to SCREAM “ENOUGH!” Adios and Good Riddance Olde Crusty! e have seen TOO much of Thee:-)

You’re a freaking madman!
It depends on her “suspending” or pulling out.
It does matter.
She would still be vulturing for a melt down.
either way this is very very very bad for mccain as he has no brass spheres for a political fight.
