Interestingly, I have a known a few well educated and well spoken blacks in the engineering field who I have seen carrying on conversations with the janitors in the lunch room at work. It's like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. You would be amazed how the personality, language and speech patterns change with the audience.

I know that “Layte Gulf” will be recognized by Google but I do believe that the accepted spelling, throughout the world, is “Leyte Gulf”.
Whether the tape exists or not, I could see Michelle Obama using the term 'whitey' in certain settings if she felt she could get her audience 'stirred up' by doing so.
It is certainly possible that she used the language, but the longer this sticks around, the more it seems like a false-flag operation. Drive people into a frenzy about this mythical tape, then release it and show that it wasn’t anything at all.
OTOH, the garbage spewing from Trinity makes it very possible that the tape is really damning.

And while the specific issue of the Jena 5 is petty, it nonetheless motivates many on the Left.

Which actually would be a clever speech, because everybody could tie the original use of “whitey” to the subsequent implications of why did he.
And it seems like just the kind of clever thing that would attract Michelle, given her other turns of phrases.
I think that is the strategy. Get him the nomination, get closer to November and drop the bomb. Vanity Fair has a scathing piece on the Clintons so it appears that Hill has lost the race and the media.
The Jena incident occurred in December of 2006. To most of America, with the exception of those who wallow in petty racial politics, it is very old news.
In regards to whether Jenna Bush's first name is spelled "Jenna" or "Jena", that is as a bit of of trivia for the People Magazine crowd. As for me, I will admit that I have no idea what the name of Jenna's new husband is and I don't really care.
