Suspected missile strike in Pakistan tribal area: officials

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan (AFP) — A suspected missile strike destroyed buildings including a mosque in a Pakistani tribal area early Monday, but there were no immediate reports of casualties, security officials said.

At least two blasts ripped through the compound in Spilga, a village on the outskirts of Miranshah, the main town in the Taliban stronghold of North Waziristan, the officials told AFP.

No casualties were reported after the explosions, which happened shortly after midnight (1800 GMT), said the officials who are based in the region.

Officials in Islamabad said they had no details.

Missile attacks attributed to US-led forces in neighbouring Afghanistan in the past have claimed the lives of several militants in Pakistan's volatile tribal belt.

More than a dozen people were killed in a missile strike in the Bajaur tribal region in May. The Pakistani military said it had lodged a protest with the US-led coalition over that attack.

Did I....I can't remember stuff I did yesterday....:-)

You will see this more and more frequently until Bushy hands over the keys..

The beauty of these strikes it causes fear in AQ central leadership....because getting the location of this many safe houses means our intelligence capability(HUMIT and SIG) is off the charts.

Matter of time and we dial in Zawahiri himself.

“Suspected missile strike in Pakistan tribal area: officials “

It’s always great to start the week with a Predator strike on Waziristan.

Let's see. There were NO casualties from this attack yet a-f-pee feels compelled to include...

Missile attacks attributed to US-led forces in neighbouring Afghanistan in the past have claimed the lives of several militants in Pakistan's volatile tribal belt.

...without one contextual mention of how many innocents or coalition members those "militants" have butchered.

"”There was a big explosion and we heard a drone flying in the sky,” Noor Mohammad, a resident of the village, Sapalga,"

Let me guess, they could hear it's propeller. NOT!

Those jet powered drones are long gone before the missile hits, and fly far too high for anyone on the ground to hear, especially in all the mayhem following a missile strike. Muslims wouldn't be LYING now, would they?

I wouldn't be the least bit suprized if this was nothing more than another "Mohammad" assembling a roadside bomb wrong in the Imam's basement after smoking some opium, doing a few prostrations and death to America chants.

...and we are still waiting for the "spring offensive".

I have this wonderful mental image of 40-50 Jihadis' just salivating to get into the fight, after an intensive 10 days of training, but waiting....waiting, cause they're having a most difficult time finding a leader who is still capable of drawing breath.

Meanwhile, spring moves relentlessly into summer and .....NOTHING.
