Youve seen the latest video rant from Trinity featuring a Catholic priest in the lead role?
Apparently the guy is just what youd expect to find in any Catholic parish [/snark]:
Ambushed by a Bill OReilly camera crew, Pfleger stated: "He (Farrakhan) hasfirst of all, he has not called Judaism a gutter religion of blood suckers. That is not what he has said because I have heard that talk. I stick up for Louis Farrakhan because he is another person that the media has chosen to define how they want to do it. And they demonize how they want to demonize somebody. I know the man, Louis Farrakhan. He is a great man. I have great respect for him, ho has done an awful lot for people and this country, black, white, and brown. Hes a friend of mine." (The OReilly Factor, Apr. 3, 2008.) Farrakhan spoke at St. Sabinas on May 25, 2007. (Chicago Sun Times, May 10, 2007.) ...
Rev. Pfleger does not respect the property rights of persons who sell products he does not like. He "is known for climbing ladders to deface liquor billboards." (Crains Chicago Business, Dec. 20, 2004.) ...
In another demonstration at Chucks Gun Shop, owned by John Riggio, Rev. Pfleger told the crowd: "Were going to find you and snuff you out....Like a rat youre going to hide. But like a rat, were going to catch you and pull you out....Were going to snuff out John Riggio." Rev. Pfleger also promised: "Were going to snuff out legislators that are voting against our gun laws. Were coming for you because were not going to sit idly."
Rev. Pfleger later denied that his words had been meant to invoke violence, or that he had known that "snuff out" means to "kill." Rather, the determination to "snuff out" Riggio was a determination to find out his home address, which was not publicly available. And if youre willing to take Pfleger at his word, hes more than just a guest preacher at Trinity: ... Friends and advisers, such as the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church in the Auburn- Gresham community on the South Side, who has known Obama for the better part of 20 years, help him keep that compass set, he says.
"I always have felt in him this consciousness that, at the end of the day, with all of us, youve got to face God," Pfleger says of Obama. "Faith is key to his life, no question about it. It is central to who he is, and not just in his work in the political field, but as a man, as a black man, as a husband, as a father.... I dont think he could easily divorce his faith from who he is."
Wonderful.
Damn straight. And they would’ve had their tax-empt status revoked many moons ago.
I imagine that's a typo but it works either way.
He is not going to let this stand, count on it.
Have you emailed him yet? I’m a Lutheran, but I’ve already told him how I feel about Pfleger.
let’s see how the media covers Barry’s generous earmark to Pflegler’s church....

I'll fire off a letter tomorrow afternoon after Mass.
I will have to check out how EWTN is dealing with this issue.
They are a pretty conservative lot over there and this has not been the first time his name has come up over there.
Have you sent that to Michele Malkin or anyone else who might be inclined to use it?
I'd like to see Pfleger show up inside any gun store and announce he's going to "snuff out" the owner(s). I'd pay to see it, in fact. The RC church wouldn't have to worry about defrocking him after that.
OBAMA-PFLEGER TIE RUNS DEEP
May 30, 2008
Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on Rev. Michael Pflegers remarks at Sen. Barack Obamas church that led the Catholic priest to apologize and the Democratic hopeful to renounce them:
Most commentators are already focusing on the inappropriateness of the race-baiting comments by Father Pfleger. More serious is the venue in which he delivered his diatribe and his long-standing ties to Sen. Obama.
Father Pflegers tirade would be inexcusable anywhere, but it is even more offensive when it happens in a church. It does not matter that it was not his own, nor does it matter that it happened in a church that has a record of allowing demagogues to exploit it. When churches become forums for political rallies, both religion and the First Amendment are corrupted.
Obama and Pfleger are no strangers. Indeed, when Obama was in the state senate in Illinois, he conveniently arranged for Father Pflegers St. Sabinas Church to receive state monies for its social programs. Of course, the guardians of church and state separation said nothing then and they are saying nothing now. Thats because theyre all in the tank for Obama. Just as important, why is it that of all the wonderful Catholic priests in the Chicago Archdiocese, Obama long ago chose Pfleger to hang with? Truth be known, Pfleger has a very troubling history: he has welcomed the anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan to preach in his church; he has hired prostitutes to worship there; he has been arrested for defacing billboards; and he once urged the crowd at an anti-gun rally to hunt down a gun store owner like a rat and snuff him.
Senator Obama says he wants to bring people together. Then why does he choose as his clerical friends people like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Father Pfleger? They are two peas in a pod, both equally divisive, separated only by the color of their skin.
Obama seems as blind as a bat. I feel sorry for him. He is to be pitied.
Could not agree more... This Father Pfleger is really starting to get on my last nerve. I keep telling my family Ill return to the Catholic Church when the Vatican discommunicates the esteemed senior senator from Massachusetts but considering his current state of health I will adjust my proposition to include the defrocking of this so-called priest.
And this is the cowardice of the modern Catholic Church; the failure to hold individual priests accountable for their actions. Its too dammed bad too! I miss the pre-Vatican II days. We Catholics have suffered so many fools since then that Im surprised the Church has any credible standing in any nation.
-- From Wiki, so your mileage may vary as to accuracy, but I believe I heard him repeat this idiotic statement, inter alia.
My first reaction to Pfleger -- a year or so ago, concerning a call to "snuff out" a Chicago gun dealer was: "So apparently the Catholic Church has relaxed the basic requirement that its members -- or at any rate its priests -- must actually be followers of Jesus Christ."
Now, given these bizarre ecumenical remarks, and his latest public display, I think we must conclude that the minimum IQ requirement for clerics has been lowered substantially as well.
Either that, or he's part of a black propaganda [no racial overtone intended] effort by Republicans. Could we even make up a bunch as comically anti-American as Barak's circle of friends if we tried? The South Side of Chicago is a satirists dream come true.
You have the gift of a generous heart.
Unfortunately, I am a skeptic, personally, spiritually, and professionally; so I don't.
I don't believe Barak went to this putative church for anything other than cynical political reasons to begin with. He is giving it up now for the same reasons.
Barak Obama's chickens have finally come home to roost.
Obomba must be REALLY stupid....doesn’t he know about the Internet......NOTHING is secret anymore....
Pfleger says he did not know the snuff out means to kill someone.
If he is anything, he is a liar, plain and simple. He is worthless.
I believe Malkin has been on the case...I found the NYSlimes link on a conservative site (Powerline??) on Friday...
here’s the quote:
“Typical of Mr. Obamas earmarks was a $100,000 grant for a youth center at a Catholic church run by the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a controversial priest who was one of the few South Side clergymen to back Mr. Obama against Mr. Rush. “
