Iran: Cleric 'calls all feminists whores and foreign spies'

Tehran, 27 May (AKI) - A top Iranian cleric from the northeast, Ayatollah Ahmad Elmalhoda, has reportedly called feminists "whores and foreign spies".

"These whores, clutching a piece of paper in their hands to gather signatures, are working for foreign powers and want to destabilise the Islamic Republic," said Elmalhoda.

He is the highly influential prayer leader in the northeastern holy Shia city of Mashad.

Elmalhoda has called on the government to "intervene decisively against these whores, because it is improper to leave them to act with impunity."

A few weeks ago, Elmalhoda said women who do not wear the Islamic veil as instructed "turned men into animals."

Verbal attacks against feminists in Iran are also being accompanied by a vast judicial offensive.

Eight feminists involved in a campaign to gather "a million signatures in favour of equality" were recently given jail terms of various lengths and sentenced to public floggings.

The Iranian authorities have in the last two weeks censured twelve websites close to the feminist movement.

Why are the feminists reluctant to take on the Islamic fundamentalists?

On a serious note, which I don’t find funny at all.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Eight feminists involved in a campaign to gather “a million signatures in favour of equality” were recently given jail terms of various lengths and sentenced to public floggings.”

Because feminism is not about the well-being of women, it's simply another avenue to implement socialism.

Feminists, like all leftists, feel a kinship with the Islamic Nazis because they have a common goal: totalitarian rule. The fact that the feminists will either don a burka or be summarily shot dead if the Islamics are ever able to achieve their goal either doesn't occur to them or they believe that their magical and astounding powers of "dialogue" and "diplomacy" will keep them, the chosen and anointed, alive and well while the little people lose their heads.

No socialist will ever take on any kind of oppressive dictator. They both have the same beliefs.

I thought about what you cited. Then thought about:

  1. Jane Fonda
  2. Hillary Clinton
  3. Gloria Steinem
  4. Margaret Sanger
  5. Madeline Albright
  6. Susan Sarandon
  7. Barbra Streisand
  8. Jeanine Garofalo
...and you have not at all convinced me that this was an entirely bad idea in and of itself.

Well Bon Mots, I couldn’t/wouldn’t convince you anyway — I’m not a feminist.

OPINION: Women under shariah law get the raw end of the deal — feminists or not.

More than ideal speculation for this hour of the morning (here in Ohio) but your post brought to mind one of Limbaugh's "35 Undeniable Truths of Life":

#24 Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society.

Could it be that in their secret heart of hearts many feminist, particularly the uncomely ones, wouldn't mind if women where covered-up? Sure, they would be covered too, but...

I think we should talk to them without preconditions.
They certainly seem more progressive than they were, say,
in the 14th Century.

While I don’t particular agree with the feminist movement in the U.S., the feminist movement in Iran might be fighting for such things as: not allowing women to be murdered in “honor killings” or being able to divorce abusive husbands without fear of retribution.

“Elmalhoda said women who do not wear the Islamic veil as instructed “turned men into animals.” “

Maybe...just maybe...a few less veils would help these idiot cult members find something to do with their time other than jihad? A little sumpin’ sumpin’, eh?

Islam...bringting you the best of the seventh century for over 1400 years.

I have to agree with a mullah in awhile. Its not politically correct to attack the feminazis. Someone has to step up to do it.

I’m betting “feminist” in Iran has a whole different meaning. Those damn women who want to, you know, take the burka off when it’s 115 outside. Drive a car. Open a bank account. Talk to a man who’s not their husband without getting whipped.

Damn uppity women.
