A good deal of what is posted on FR is based on misreading of the facts or outright xenophobia. Anyone who speaks on this subject should have some facts and understanding of the issues and solutions.
Karl Rove did this in December 2006. The You Tube presentation at CSPAN can be found: HERE.
“Anecdotal, but, I suspect, more common in this particular trade. Incidentally, I asked why he didnt hire HS and college students; his reply, you must be kidding...no way are they going to do heavy labor, on a roof in the 90 degree sun. (paraphrased)”
Tell that to the thousands of our kids in Iraq, Afghanistan and who knows where else. He sounds a bit like McCain.
April, 2006 SEN. JOHN MCCAIN (R), ARIZONA: My friends, Ill offer anybody here $50 an hour if youll go pick lettuce in Yuma this season and pick for whole season. So OK? Sign up. OK. When you sign up you sign up, and youll be there for the whole season. The whole season, OK? Not just one day. Because you cant do it, my friend. Sign up.

Rove stinks.
The outrage will occur - but only after a nuke (that was smuggled across the border) explodes in Tucson or Tulsa or Little Rock.
While he was still a presidential bitwig, Rove went to La Raza and reassured this racist organization that US laws would NOT be enforced—that invaders would go scot-free.
Yes, Rove actually told La Raza “US laws were not enforced to help people who come here for a better life.”
It was Karl Rove who recently told the Aspen Institute that Americans’ resistance to the amnesty bill was driven mainly by “fear” about policing the border and that amnesty for illegal workers already here would not be the last (any more than the 1986 amnesty had been).
Rove misrepresents some facts in that video.
He wants credit for apprehending more border crossers, but never mentions how many they have missed and allowed across. He never reveals when they began to increase border arrests.
He says, in Dec 2006, that they are building a fence with all those features he talks about, but fails to mention that the fence bill had just passed a few months before that, and construction on the fence had not yet begun.
He wants credit for large raids on companies hiring illegals, but fails to mention that they did all that only after being forced to do so by a massive outpouring of public opinion against their previous record of very little prosecution of companies hiring illegals for the first six years of the administration.
No, I don’t trust Karl Rove to accurately assess the feasibility of securing the border. To Rove’s assertion that we cannot secure the border, I say, “Nuts!” More than that, I say, “Yes, we can.”
To your charge of xenophobia, I say, “Prove it.”
I've got a nickname for him but its not that. Though it does consist of three words. The last two are: 'for brains'.
Maybe, you just have.
With charges like that you need a source to remain credible.
If you are not up to date on FR news threads, don’t take it out on me.
Ever hear of a search?
Heheh-—good one.
For such a ‘smart’ man, he still doesn’t know the difference between LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL aliens.
I just find it odd that you would be accusing someone of being a DU plant that had been here for the better part of a decade. I always thought the mods were more on the ball than that.
If the powers that be put as much effort into doing the will of the people on issues like these that they do in trying to FIGHT the will of the people....my goodness what a nation we would have. I am of the firm belief that BOTH major parties have NO interest in actually SOLVING any problem(s) facing this nation, they just want the issues so that they may scare the voters back onto their respective plantations every 2-4 years.
self-ping
If the erstwhile “neocons” are still in power, the United States will respond to that attack by immediately invading Canada.
That's your opinion, of course, and you know what they say about opinions.
Ever heard of "sleepers"?
I'm not saying shrinkermod is one, though his throwing around the buzzwords like "xenophobia" and "Limbaugh's cyst", "global warming", et al, (the type of stuff you're usually accustomed to seeing on liberal sites), gives you pause.
Actually, the more I think of the pandering of the GOP, all the Big Tent idiocy, and the McCainiacs, maybe I shouldn't have said a word.
We could be doing a damn sight better than we are at the present time.
How do you figure that?
Well, if he read FR more closely he'd learn..........fast.
