Karl Rove: U.S. Cannot Secure Border
You Tube ^ | 6 December 2006 | Karl Rove (via C SPAn)

Posted on 05/27/2008 8:29:00 AM PDT by shrinkermd

A good deal of what is posted on FR is based on misreading of the facts or outright xenophobia. Anyone who speaks on this subject should have some facts and understanding of the issues and solutions.

Karl Rove did this in December 2006. The You Tube presentation at CSPAN can be found: HERE.

“For example the current sub-prime meltdown is primarily the result of loans to illegals and/or those who house them.”

A friend of mine is a lender. From 2003 through 2006 they made a boatloads of mortgage loans to Mexicans. No proof of green card needed. For the past 6 months this person estimates the numbers of Mexicans even applying for loans at their location has dropped by 75%.

Methinks it has a lot to do with their mass employment sources going out of business: volume builders and landscaping companies, as well as the new lending regulations.

If you had listened or watched either of the two Rove tapes you would know what our current Mexico policy is. You do want to be informed when you make an opinion, don’t you?

I called you what you are because of your use of leftist buzzwords, your uppity attitude, and your falling for global warming.

Live with it.

>You are attempting to impute the racist canard upon Americans who merely expect the government to do its job and enforce the laws.

Correct.

I won’t even dignify that smear with a response.

I shall:

No man is above the law and no man is below it: nor do we ask any man's permission when we ask him to obey it.
- Theodore Roosevelt

The man who loves other countries as much as his own stands on a level with the man who loves other women as much as he loves his own wife.

“He tells you what you want to hear and you agree he is a conservative. He may be, but he doesn't’t live like one”.

Just out of curiosity, in what manner is a conservative supposed to live, and assuming there is a standard, who makes the rules?

On a side note, since you have been here since 1999, you might want to add a little something to your profile page. Sometimes that helps to sort the lefty trolls/ stealth liberals out. Just a thought...

It’s a deep dark secret (as with all things pertaining to citizenship), but yes it is leaking out that a huge amount of the subprime lending was to illegals.

Why do I need to listen to Bush’s mentor in this particular video to formulate my own opinion about illegal immigration based on my own life experience and observations?

>>>>Pfft..Your facts just get in the way of the open borders crowd.

Huh?

I am asserting that employers are getting a discount by hiring illegals rather than Americans, as they did when I was in college.

It’s still against the law, and such employers should be prosecuted.

"A good deal of what is posted on FR is based on misreading of the facts or outright xenophobia.”

Faulty logic. Xenophobes have rights. Not only that, when it comes to the immigration mess they are right. Not only that, many xenophobes, I've been told, can read our laws and can tell when they have been broken.

It's really a bitch when the unfashionable and socially unacceptable folks out there ... no to mention the politically incorrect and positively ungrammatical... are on your side.

He has a tendency for liberal sloganeering. Take any of his posts with a grain of salt.

What are you, his knight in shining armor?

I just checked, you are in Minn? You live in fantasy and haven’t a clue as to the issues illegal immigration has caused for those of us who live in the South.

What do you have in your area, a token Mexican restaurant?

Walk in our shoes for a while and you’ll have an opinion of your own, not one adopted from someone else.

If there isn’t sufficient public outrage, could that possibly mean that most people think it’s not a good idea?

Not necessarily. Americans have traditionally been slow to react to threats against our country - just look at how long it took for us to recognize the danger of nazi Germany or imperial Japan in the 30's, or the islamist threat during the seventies and the eighties.

In addition, a good number of people have just given up hope that the government will take any real, concrete steps to stem illegal immigration into this country.

I don’t need an explanation for failure from people who are elected and handsomely paid to perform.

If they can’t do what they were elected to do, they should resign.
