Karl Rove: U.S. Cannot Secure Border
You Tube ^ | 6 December 2006 | Karl Rove (via C SPAn)

A good deal of what is posted on FR is based on misreading of the facts or outright xenophobia. Anyone who speaks on this subject should have some facts and understanding of the issues and solutions.

Karl Rove did this in December 2006. The You Tube presentation at CSPAN can be found: HERE.

Karl Rove is a pinhead and always has been.

He is the wrecking ball of his party.

Everytime he comes on TV I turn it off.

Have you actually listened to what he had to say? I would guess not.

Karl Rove?

Oh, I remember him.

He’s one of them that said when American forces invaded, Iraquis would throw roses at the feet of American soldiers.

Tick, tock, tick, tock..........we’re still waiting, Karl.....................

“Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen.”

Not to be picky, but.....

The music heard in Miami, Chicago or New York/New Jersey is not connected in any way with crappy Mexican or Tex-Mex music. It’s a totally different culture. The music in those cities has its roots/rhythms in Cuba but originated in New York. It is a combination of Cuban rhythms, New York Jazz/syncopation and just a touch of good ol’ Rock & Roll. It’s name is Salsa. Most Salsa artists are Cuban-American or Puerto Rican. Some even record Salsa with English lyrics since they all speak English as well as you or I. They are bi-lingual which is better than I can say for most Americans.

A very famous New York Jazz musician, when asked, “What is Salsa?” answered, “Salsa is Cuban music with a freakin’ New York attitude.” That’s the best definition I have ever heard. :-)

I have no problem with either Cuban-Americans or Puerto Ricans. They are, for the most part, self-supporting and here legally. I have problems only with illegal aliens regarless of their country of origin.

Well, if you had listened to the tapes, you would have discovered that Mexicans who are making 50 cents an hour routinely come to the US illegally and make $10+ an hour.

I know you all believe that the Mexicans are being paid 5$ or less per hour, but that is either rare or not true.

The upshot is with this kind of wage differential, it is difficult to supervise all our borders.

Mexicans and Central Americans are particularly common in the roofing trade. My neighbor had a new roof. I spoke to both the Mexicans and the US, skilled roofer. The Mexicans and others were paid 10$ an hour with $15 for o.t.

Anecdotal, but, I suspect, more common in this particular trade. Incidentally, I asked why he didn’t hire HS and college students; his reply, “you must be kidding...no way are they going to do heavy labor, on a roof in the 90 degree sun.” (paraphrased)

Karl Rove.......nicknamed “know-it-all.”

This is the guy who backed abortion worshipper RINO Rooty Giuliani.

Rove and then-RNC chair Kenny (light-in-the-loafers) Mehlman sent Rooty out on the campaign trail.

Rooty was to campaign for Repub candidates (Rooty was to help the guys, win, then cash in his chips when he declared for president).

Trouble is when Rooty showed up, the votes disappeared as fast as a whore at a virgin’s convention.

That was the infamous Nov 2006 debacle when Repubs lost control of the Congress-—after 25 years.

Thanks to Rooty, Rove and Melhman-—now long gone, thank God.

“If there isn’t sufficient public outrage, could that possibly mean that most people think it’s not a good idea?”

No, it simply means that most people pull the wool over their own eyes and take all of the screw jobs that Big Brother gives to them.

Yeah, I’d say you have a brilliant obsession with Limbaugh for some reason.

For the record, I’m nowhere near his biggest fan. He can be very repetitive, though he rarely speaks, if at all, of some things that needs to be on the Conservative radar, but dang! :)

Rove to La Raza: Hispanics are `real Americans'
SF Gate | July 11, 2006 | MICHAEL R. BLOOD
FR Posted on 07/11/2006 by managusta

White House political strategist Karl Rove said Tuesday that the highly charged immigration debate has "clouded" the views of some Americans, leading them to dismiss the importance of immigrants and their contribution to the nation's success.

"Everything that this country is, everything that we have achieved, everything that we hold, everything that we promise, is because we are a nation of diversity, brought together by immigration, and sharing a common dream," Rove told members of the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights group, the National Council of La Raza.

Rove ticked off enforcement elements of the president's proposal, but added, "All these measures will come to naught without a temporary worker program. ... It's not enough to say send them home." He also warned that critics against were confusing the debate with catchwords, rather than solutions.

"Too many simplify the problem into one word, "amnesty," Rove said. "In an issue this vital, we cannot allow words to be misused." (Excerpt) Read more at sfgate.com (link at FR site).

Please, I’m not making a statement that women didn’t “work.” If you want to go back to more agrarian times, you’ll remember that families were also larger because people were a resource. Very young children had “jobs” to do around the farm too. I was referencing the result of massive employment of women which effectively allowed companies to keep down their labor costs through choices afforded from the expanded labor pool. The side benefit allowed higher productivity because in essence two people could be employed to do the job they formerly paid a single person to perform.

..talk about naive

Naive, maybe....too trusting by a mile...absolutely.

I trusted him.
I trusted Rove.

From the Dems I can & do expect every nasty thing they can imagine or invent.

From my own Party, my beloved President, I never saw it coming......I was blindsided and sucker punched at the same time!!!

It still breaks my heart.

I cannot look at him on the TV, or listen to his voice now.

I defended him until the realization & truth hit...

Karl Rove: U.S. Cannot Secure Border

Call out the National Guard. Eight to 12 troops on every mile of the border with rules of engagement that force will be met with force.

Border secured in less than two months.

After a year of truly secure borders and enforcing our immigration laws, the President goes to Congress and they happily pass a guest worker plan and maybe even a very small amnesty.

Result: Republicans and conservatives happy with secure borders and enforcing laws and Hispanics happy with some legal status. A win-win strategy as opposed to Bush and Rove's current lose-lose non strategy.

“I asked why he didn’t hire HS and college students; his reply, “you must be kidding...no way are they going to do heavy labor, on a roof in the 90 degree sun.” (paraphrased)”

I worked as a roof-loader in CA, when I wore a younger man’s clothes, and I’m not Mexican. It’s hard work, but I was paid a fair wage.
I just had some masonry work done and insisted that the contractor assure me the workers were Americans. I could have had it done cheaper but wanted it done right.
I tried to watch your boy, but it looked to me like he was being dubbed since his lips and words didn’t sync. Karl Rove is wrong, and so are you.
And your thread blows.

Exactly. The border can be and should be secured. And the hordes of illegals can be deported. Our biggest threat to this country comes from the open borders. The planes on 9/11 took off not from Iraq but from American soil. Karl Rove is a disgrace. Maybe he hates this country or maybe he is in the pay of foreign interests.

“s because we are a nation of diversity, brought together by immigration, and sharing a common dream,” “

Brought together by immigration? Only 4 of our founding fathers were ‘immigrants’. Rove needs some history lessons.
His favorite immigrants, illegal Mexicans, certainly DO NOT share our common dream.
