Memorial Day is a double whammy for me. You see, my son Casey was born on Memorial Day 29 years ago.
When he was growing up, we would gather dozens of our friends and relatives to celebrate his birthday. Now a few of us gather at his grave in Vacaville to mourn his death and cry for the life that was stolen from him. . . .

I thought all interest was lost when she decided to run against Nancy Pelosi.
She was even kicked off DailyKos - what does that tell you?

Well, wifey and I got married on this date - May 26 - 29 years ago....and it wasn't Memorial Day; it was the Saturday before.
Monday, May 28 was Memorial Day in 1979. Wiki has Casey being born on Tuesday the 29th.
Cindy is full of sh*t once again....

I feel sorry for you Cindy, as you are beyond pitiful. You need competent professional help, and have needed it for some time.

Good grief! She’s still alive? How long can a person be on a hunger strike and not starve to death??

I think it was 1954, when the Congers officially changed the name from “Decoration Day” to “Memorial Day”. There was some controversy about the date change from people who wanted it to remain on the original date.

vI>Memorial Day is indeed a day to mourn. Southerners decorate the graves of their beloved on Memorial Day. It is also a day to honor their sacrifices. Every Memorial Day I visit both the Nartional cemetery and the Confederat Cemetery in Marietta, GA -- have since I moved her in 1972.
Sadly, a lot of people forget that the Confederate troops were just as much Americans as were the Union troops.

We usually have a tribute to the Confederate soldiers at the town square. Reenactments, Confederate camps, songs, readings from journals. It’s very touching.

Consider the fact that this individual is making the sort of living she is off of the death of her son. What a truly pathetic and reprehensible person she is.

Saw the “Kids In The Hall” live performance last night. At the end they asked us to think of the troops out there defending us all this being Memorial day. They also asked us to think of their troops ( Canadian ) now serving in Afghanistan. No other politics were thrown in as it should be. Was classy of the guys.
