HALL OF FAME #19 THE WEEKEND THREAD T.G.I.F. at the Finest |
Every Thursday at the Finest |
Great posts Dub, Thank you.
My pleasure, Mayor. Thank you for our Memorial Day thread.
Oh, I agree with you there for sure.
When Billie asked me to post the Military threads because I was a Veteran, I jumped at.
I would not have missed it. Thanks as always for being here.
Well, I am married to a vet, and have an active member of the service, so I am always interested in military posts.
....so...thanks! Glad you’re here for them!

God Bless them all and very well done.
Thank you very much for the reminder. I shall never forget.
I know how much you love the Veterans and the Military, I can see it in all of your beautiful posts, from here and the Canteen.
Your Love and Patriotism gleams through your posts and as a Veteran I appreciate it so much.
Please pass your Thanks and heartfelt gratitude to your Husband and your Son.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for that!
Amy, That is truly a wonderful post. My screen got blurry.
Thank you Big Horn, this is just one of so many special days that we need to remember and show out Thanks to them all.
Never Forget, if we do we are bound to repeat the past.
God Bless.
The following is an email exchange between Mr G and a colleague of his who lost his son in Iraq. It seemed appropriate to post it here. I have removed names to protect the privacy of our friend.
“Hello my friend,
Once again, (my wife) and I are thinking of your family and the sacrifices youve made on our behalf. We so appreciate our freedom, and know as best we can, that it is secured and protected by folks like you and your son. It seems so trite to only be able to say, thank you, but truly that is all I can offer.
Please accept our sincere kindest regards, and lift one of those really fine beverages, as we will.
All His best,
xxxx & yyyyyy
Let me tell you how much it means to us to hear you say it!
(my son) would, of course, laugh it off. He’s a Marine and he considered his sacrifice to be part of his obligation to others. What a mind-set for someone 26 years old in 2005, huh? I do not think that you can bring a kid up to have that kind of mind-set, I think they are born with it and I weep and rejoice in it.
I look at some of the stuff on street corners these days and can only conclude that those who would do us harm may have already won. Then I think of fine young men and women who put on “the suit” each morning and selflessly offer themselves for the rest of us and I give thanks.
Truly, there were only two who offered their lives for the rest of us, Jesus Christ and the kids in our military, Could that be why Christ understood the Centurion?
(my wife) and I want to share that there are no words to describe how much your thoughts and prayers mean to us. Thinking about people like you who are thinking about us is, I believe, truly coming close to touching God.
Bless you both!
I certainly will. And thank you for your kind words, Rus.
Also, thank YOU for your service. You are counted amongst my
heroes!
Wow! You know sometimes saying Thank you says so much.
Thank you Grammy, excellent post.
I still wonder where so many come from that are so dedicated to the survival of this Country, then I sit and reflect and realize, it comes from how they were raised. From Patriots come Patriots, Love of God, Men and Country is something that instilled in us from birth. Children have to be raised in Faith and guidance from Godly Faithful parents, that is what made this Country great and we will keep it that way as long as there is one Patriot standing.
Thank you... I am what I am and nothing more.
God made me this way and I Love Him for it.
