Of course Democrats in Congress support the troops. But that doesn't mean they have to tolerate being in the same building with them. From a letter an enraged Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark, Jr. (D-CA) recently sent to the Secretary of Defense:
Dear Secretary Gates:Yesterday, while voting on the war supplemental spending bill in the House of Representatives, I couldnt help but notice a contingent of approximately 20 flag rank Army officers sitting in the House Gallery watching the debate and vote for a couple of hours. I was looking from below so I thought they were Army, but there could have been other branches present.
Its possible they were on leave time or vacation. If so, I obviously have no concern. However, if they were doing this on military time, I want an explanation of why they were there.
At a time when our nation is at war, our troops are over-extended, and the Administration is literally asking for emergency military spending, what good to the war on terror is having US Generals and other top ranked officers - who were likely accompanied by staff and escorted by their chauffeurs - spending hours sitting in the gallery of the House of Representatives?
Please provide for me the name, rank, branch, and duties of each of these officers, as well as the number of additional staff and drivers that were used to facilitate their attendance yesterday. I would like this information by Monday, May 19th.
If they were here on official duty, this was an abhorrent misallocation of our military resources at a time of war.
Sincerely,
Pete Stark
Apparently Stark has enough of a conscience not to want American soldiers to witness their ongoing betrayal by his fellow Dems.
Dear Nancy Pelosi,
Yesterday, I happened to be watching C-SPAN and noticed Pete Stark, D-CA, standing on the house floor with his head up his ass - AGAIN!
I am sure you will agree that at a time of crisis in America, our representatives need to be focused on the important business of the day, which is impossible to do with one’s head crammed into his body cavity. Please instruct Mr. Stark that this is inappropriate behavior for a member of congress. In the event I am mistaken, and Mr. Stark was just looking for his brain, then please forgive me.
Is he up for reelection?
What a jackass! If I were Gates, I’d tell him to F-O!
Is that pansy Reid’s twin bro?
I'll probably get a waring for this post, but it's just how I feel.
Hey Stark, lay down and lick your nuts!
Stark—raving mad.
When did so many of our “public servants” become such ingrates and perfidious traitors?
Who the hell is Pete Stark and what the hell is wrong with him?
He should be recalled and voted out of office immediately.
What a rat, what a traitor.
‘I would like an accounting from Stark...’
exactly! as well as from all other Senators and Congressmen/women, since ‘the people’s work’ does not get done in D.C. If the Congress WAS (had been) doing its job, we would not STILL be dependent on foreign oil; they would NOT spend time to vote on giving MILLIONS MORE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS MONEY to the U.N. World Food Program; they would immediately pass the Protect America Act(FISA)to continue to protect Americans against terrorists...etc.
These people have performed in a disgraceful and completely ineffective manner.
LOL!
Bingo.
For my sake, I hope he never has car trouble in front of my place.
YEAH!!!! My sentiments exactly!!! What a sorry POS!!!!!
Dear Pete Stark,
Bite me!
Sincerely,
Secretary Gates
For my sake, I hope he never has car trouble in front of my place.
Typical LibTraitor weasel...Can’t even identify the branch of military the uniforms signal, but he’s positive that they were “flag officers”. Having observers in the balcony...Oh My! He felt intimidated! Perhaps Stark thinks there shouldn’t be *any* observers in the Gallery, so that when Congress enacts Legislation Without Representation, like their amnesty bill of attainder, no one will be there to make them feel “intimidated”, at what they do in the “dark of night”.
