Arbiters of Clinton's Fate?
Washington Post ^ | May 23, 2008 | E. J. Dionne Jr.

Hillary Clinton is talking as if the battle over seating disputed delegations from Florida and Michigan at the Democratic National Convention is the greatest crisis for democracy since the 2000 Florida recount.

Her rhetoric flies in the face of intensive efforts by members of the party's rules committee to settle the delegate battle with a compromise that would probably guarantee the nomination for Barack Obama. Ending the struggle quickly depends on whether the committee's peacemakers succeed in their work.

Clinton's chances of winning are slim, partly because some of her own supporters believe the contest is over. They see the clash over Michigan and Florida as futile for Clinton and destructive to the party.

The Clintons are profoundly dishonest...exactly the kind of people who should be as far as possible from power.

Here’s hoping that the N.A.G.s and Black panthers will be fighting in the streets in Denver

E. J. Dionne frequently falls in love with his own words, and fails to understand what is going on in the story he is apparently reporting. That has happened here.

The Rules Committee can only propose. It is the seated delegates on the Convention floor who decide the issue. Here's how ALL political conventions operate: All uncontested delegates are seated. The convention elects its officers and sets its rules. Then the various committees report, including the Rules (or Credentials) Committee.

I'll say it again: whoever has a majority among the seated delegates will control the allocation of the Michigan and Florida delegates. WHOEVER HAS THE MAJORITY GOING IN, WILL HAVE THE MAJORITY COMING OUT. This is so obvious that only a twit like Dionne could miss it.

The Post is trying to get Mrs. Clinton to quit in order to help their shared party, but Mrs. Clinton is staying in, hoping that something, ah, unfortunate will happen to Mr. Obama.

Hillary's speeches continue: "Off With His Head".

Playing the womens' card is stupid. There are a lot of women a lot smarter than Hillary around who have reached their ceiling and they're happy.

Myself and my daughter are two extraordinary examples. Why Hillary thinks women are so unhappy with their lives befuddles me.

Mothers with 3 babies by 3 fathers, the lazy. They're not happy because of their own actions...Tough....I'm tired of paying for them.

Never apologize for them.
Never appease them.
Never forget.

poor lady, sentenced to a lifetime of Bill’s I told you so..
if I were Obama, I wouldn’t choose her to be VP, because she has so much drive for power, I’d have to watch my back..ask Vince Foster.

Bye screech, maybe folks will be stupid enough next round to choose you, after all with a few tears, you could once again say, i just want to do whats good for the US, if that was true you wouldn’t run..
