SECNAV Names New Guided-Missile Destroyer USS Michael Murphy

Leroy, fire supportman, with Fire Support Team, Weapons Platoon, Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, NATO-International Security Assistance Force, scan the terrain to locate their next target using the new Target Location, Designation, and Hand-off System during a live-fire range in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. right now it just hurts. more than I ever expected it to. I thought that last fall when I held the hand of another friend and veteran, sang to him, prayed with him and recited whatever passages God brought to mind, escorting him to heaven's gate was heart breaking and hard. (a God -thing...he was not able to speak any more at that point, and the songs and scriptures ended up being exactly what he himself had picked out for his own funeral. I found this out as I attended it, and heard it all as if replayed for me from the moment I was at his bedside.)
These past few days have just as hard and equalled to it. I share these things here because most everyone here understands it.
