The good news: Republican senators went on record against the Feinstein/Craig illegal alien farmworker amendment today in a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The bad news: There were only 10 of them willing to put their names on the letter:

Sen. Inhofe wants you to sign the No Amnesty letter. You can do so here. The text:
Dear Majority Leader Reid:
We write to express disappointment that the Senate Appropriations Committee chose to include in the War Supplemental more than 100 pages of immigration language that would grant legal status to more than one million illegal alien agricultural workers and their families. We urge you to remove these controversial provisions from the bill so we can enact essential funding for our troops without delay. If these provisions remain in the bill, you can expect a vigorous debate on immigration policy.
As noted here previously, Sen. David Vitter will offer an amendment to strip the Feinstein/Craig provision from the Iraq war supplemental bill.
From Vitters office:
U.S. Sen. David Vitter today joined fellow immigration reform-minded colleagues in a letter to U.S. Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid expressing disappointment in the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committees inclusion of the Feinstein AGJobs language to the Iraq War emergency funding bill and urging for the controversial provision to be removed. Vitter joined U.S Sens. Jeff Sessions, Charles Grassley, Tom Coburn, Johnny Isakson, Saxby Chambliss, James Inhofe, John Barrasso, Elizabeth Dole and Jim Bunning on the letter.
The Democratic leadership is building a reputation for sneaking unpopular provisions that would never see the light of day as stand-alone bills into larger necessary pieces of legislation, like the Iraq War supplemental funding bill, said Vitter. When will the amnesty proponents learn that the American people want border security and enforcement as their immigration reform policy, not sweeping amnesty for millions of illegal aliens? I join my colleagues in urging the Democratic leader to remove the Feinstein AG Jobs provision.
Vitter also announced that he will introduce an amendment today to strike that Feinstein AGJobs language from the Iraq War emergency funding bill.
My clear and concise amendment will simply state that the immigration amnesty language should be removed. We need to fight this bad policy and raise the awareness of the American people, added Vitter.
Vitter is the chairman of the U.S. Senate Border Security and Enforcement First Caucus.
Make your voice heard.
PING!
Keep the names handy so we can see how they vote when McCain proposes amnesty legislation next year. My guess is that they’ll think that legislation is reasoned.
I am kinda shocked that Elizabeth Dole is on the letter. Damn shocked that Sen. Allard is not. He was very good on this last year.
I notice neither of mine on there (Gregg and Sununu).
Had to laugh today when I heard Glenn Beck mention that Larry Craig was at the NRA convention where Glenn was the keynote speaker and he had a hard time keeping the phrase “wide stance” out of his speech.
I am proud to be an Okie...especially since my two senators, Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn, have the fortitude to stand up for what’s right.
No use getting excited. This issue is ovah. All 3 POTUS candidates will grant amnesty to all of them, and let them bring in millions more of their family members.
GOP, Dems, all are going to pass it. That became evident when McCain and his crowd became the nominee.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Juan Hernandez picked as McCains’s VP.
Depending on how the names were collected there may be good reason many others weren’t on the list. Hunter and Tancredo should both be on the list and you know that neither of them is afraid to put their names on it.
Craig???? Craig?????
You think that next year, on the Senate floor, SENATOR McLame (D-Arizona), will reintroduce his McAmnesty legislation? Maybe, after he cuts a deal with Reed to chair a committee after he switches parties after his landslide defeat this fall.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Senate.
Funny how these politicians stand up when they think they may lose their jobs.
Now why would only 10 republicans sign this? Is McCain one of them?
I believe this was just a Senate list. I know Hunter and Tancredo would stand tall in the House.
Man, are YOU ever an optimist...! ;)
I don’t know how I missed that. Just brain stewed tonight I guess.
Craig also voted against the Cronyn amendment. His talk of resigning was all a farce - he was waiting to push for amnesty.
bump for reference
I’m surprised Sen. DeMint isn’t one of them.
Glad Rush is back tommorrow.
