Moderators note:This was the first real thread reporting the news today. It was locked for reasons that should be obvious to everyone by now. The Moderator who locked it is the level-headed Mod. I am the arbitrary and capricious Mod. If you choose to martyr yourself I am happy to oblige.
US Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the veteran lawmaker from Massachusetts who is the last surviving brother in the legendary Kennedy family, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said today.
Specialists in Boston and around the country said the information released indicated that Kennedy has terminal cancer and might have only a limited time to live.

Compare and contrast that to poor Tim Johnson of South Dakota. The guy really can't function in his office, but the party won't allow him to step down because they need his seat.
The brain damaged already have their own senator in Patrica Bin Murray.
Yes, according to Dr. Badin (sp?) on Fox.
And now we await what kind of Moonbat Deval Patrick will appoint to the post. Although that authority was taken away from Romeny lest Kerry win and he appoint Howie Carr, there is a Moonbat in the Corner Office now so it’s okay. I predict, Cheryl Jacques, rhymes with fakes. That way MA can have the first openly Lesbian Senator.
Liberalism is a form of brain cancer. Most Liberals live with it for years and never improve.
I just lost my 78 year old Mother to cancer in Feb. and would not wish this on anyone. Very sad news for all the family.
Dear Mod,
I looked before I posted. I really did.
Something HAS to be done about that search.
Sincerely,
I Still Care
I heard that. Mark Lamont is a misguided professor/commentator. Moral and Kennedy should never be used together.
Again, prayers for him and his family.
And a malignant one. Keeping him & his family in prayer.
Amen, Christ is his only hope for eternity.
This is sad and unfortunate in many ways. It is more difficult to deal with a “legend” than a man. At this time our prayers to him and his family.
hope you are doing all right....my husband is my life companion so I would be lost....
If I got this diagnosis, I’d be down at Dr. Burzynski’s clinic in Houston tomorrow for antineoplaston therapy.

Well said.
Prayers on the way for him and his family.
Yeah. My college GF's dad got it in the early 1970's. One month, diagnosis to death. It's not a pleasant was to go. She joined the Army shortly thereafter...
There are days when I wish I didn't have a conscience. Of course, if I didn't, I wouldn't be posting here on Free Republic. But I digress.
Ted Kennedy's politics represent everything in the world that I utterly despise. More than I can say on this forum, without the possibility of being banned.
That said, my father had a stroke 18 years ago, at the relatively young age of 56. He's still here, but he has never recovered on his right side. And unlike Senator Kennedy, my dad did not have a malignant brain tumor.
So I will offer my prayers for Ted Kennedy, the person, that God will either heal him or take him - let's face it, we're all going to go someday - and for his family. I think that is appropriate, humanely and politically.
