A lot of Americans are about to start a riot with the NIMBY’s over the prices of gas. Pelosi promised lower prices if the Rats took control of congress in ‘06, which they did, but prices have actually increased at a faster rate in the 1 year 4 months since they took control than the previous 6 years under Republican control.

Good read yet have you considered the real possibility that oil “experts” have nothing too do with this ?

Manipulation of hedge funds and trading on nymex etc is the turd in this punchbowl IMO. I am not standing in line for fuel, therefore no shortages. And record profits indicate someone is buying cheap and selling it high .......just an observation from here in the cheap seats.

Stay safe !

"Millions of new households will suddenly have straws to start sucking at the world's rapidly shrinking oil reserves," wrote CIBC analyst Jeff Rubin. We have plenty of reserves, we just aren't pumping and then refining the stuff.

Good grief, $7 a gallon. That’s messed up. Too bad we can’t “drill our way out of high gas prices”. Didn’t Pelosi and company say they were going to do something about gas prices about a buck and a half ago?

I'm planning on moving from an 8 cylinder high performance vehicle to a hybrid. They're getting pretty good reviews and I'm hearing good things from neighbors. I have no objection to using less gas.

But the price rise still sucks, we need ANWR and offshore drilling. Just crazy that we won't. People are clueless on how enormous Alaska is.

You might trade in that GMC Yukon for a Honda Civic

Good luck with that - your Yukon will be worth a lot less just by virtue of poor gas mileage...probably to the point where the gas savings isn't worth the loss in trade-in value.

Share with your address book and ask that they pass it on as well and/or send to your elected moron:

Liberal DemoRAT Energy Plan:

1. You can’t drill for oil anywhere.
2. You can’t build a refinery anywhere.
3. You can’t build a nuclear power plant anywhere.
4. You can’t burn coal for electricity.
5. You can’t allow the oil companies to reinvest their profits into exploration.
6. But you can drive up the price of food by subsidizing an ethanol industry that takes land out of food production while using more energy than it creates.
7.You must continue to tax every gallon of gas that we put in our tanks.
8.You must threaten all energy users with additional ‘carbon taxes’.
9. And just in case some entrepreneur out there somewhere may have an idea for an alternative energy concept that just might work, you must raise the capital gains tax so that investors have less capital and less incentive to invest in his/her project. count your blessings.

With the coming change in administration, it| will be guaranteed that the price of gasoline hits $10 per gallon as our economy dumps. All this and more thanks to anti-American, anti-military Liberal DemoRATS whose platform is “enjoy living in America the new third-world country.”

My Senator, Bill Nelson (Rat-FL) told me in an email that production of domestic petroleum is not the answer. According to this clown we must conserve and develop alternative sources regardless of gas/food inflation.

I told him I can't pump sunshine or wind into my auto.

There is no doubt that the rats want a sour economy heading into the elections and will probably get away with blaming the GOP.

Too many need oil and they - OPEC - aren’t producing enough.

And why should they?

The money earned goes right into investing in Islam taking over our world.

Meanwhile Congress sits on their fannies doing less than nothing to push this CRISIS to the top of the agenda.

Ever wonder why Diesel, a lower distillate than gasoline, cost more than gasoline? Gasoline is about $3.99 and Diesel is $4.85 in the NYC area? It used to be the other way around. Why has this happened? The New York Times Automobiles section, which is distributed in the NY area and probably not part of the national editions, explains that the reason why Diesel is so costly is because Bill Clinton mandated through Executive Order that the sulfur content in Diesel fuel be removed. The sulfur went down and the price went up. Ah, clean air! The same is true for gasoline which through Executive or EPA orders have been formulated to cost more. All Bush has to do, if he has the onions, is order that the fuels be delivered unformulated until the war is over...remember we are at war???

P.S. Suburban’s can easily be converted to run compresed natural gas in additon to or as alternative to gasoline. GM has conversion kits available through certain vendors. Do an internet search on CNG for more details. CNG is available at about $2.75 a gallon her in NYC. With a “mileagemaker”, a small pump that can be installed on a home’s natural gas line to compress the gas into your CNG tanks overnight. This is SOP in Canada and Brazil. Also compressed gas burns cleaner than gasoline. Also propane, a derivative of the petroleum refining process and found at any garden center or Home Depot can be added to Diesel engines to make them burn cleaner, get more hp, and better mpg. Both gases do so without effecting the world’s food supply. Of course, this is too rational for Peliossi and the Democrats.

and market speculation that could be pushing prices higher than supply and demand can justify.

This can't possibly be right, because supply and demand always work, as many have pointed out to me, noting also that I was probably the most stupid poster on this forum.

price is up due to limiting of supply.

hydrocarbons on saturns moon prove that dinosaurs and algae aren’t the chief components of oil.

it is a natural geological conversion of carbon, which is a virtually limitless element on our planet.

greed and ignorance are the only things limiting supply.

follow the money and you will find who is propogating the lies and myths.

This type of report is part of the method used by those speculators who are driving up prices.
