In America, the Latino wave is indeed very different. They are Xians, either Catholic or Protestant, and as a Catholic, the Latino's share our churches. Natives and Latino's have a tremendous intermarriage rate. So the urge to control the borders that currently is raging is more a law-and-order issue, and, for most people, not a cultural issue. And, of course, the press is freer, so fears and hopes have an outlet.

Very true, the rate of intermarriage is tremendous and the melding of our cultures is more prevalent than not. A huge number in the next generation will be "Half Latino/ALL AMERICAN". The debate over immigration will shift to one of law and order as they take their place in American society and come to embrace our culture. Those who refuse will be left to suck the dried-out teat of the socialist left, where they will become socialist slaves and embrace the complete and total empty promise of the political left.

On the other hand, Moslems speak another language, have another culture, a different religion, with a totalitarian concept of free speechl. No idea how you Europeans are going to get out that mess.

And the melding of our peoples will be far less than that with Latinos. The moderate muslim cultures such as those from Turkey will have a far better success rate at blending into American society. Those who embrace the brutish 13th century failures of radical Islam will be left to flounder on the outer fringes of society, again to feed at the dried-out teat of the socialist left, where all social failures eventually end up.
