EXAMPLE

The most valuable gift you can give another is a good example.

"For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you."

(John: 13:15)

In his autobiography, Armand Hammer known as much for his humanitarian efforts as for being chairman and CEO of Occidental Petroleum, an advisor to presidents from Roosevelt to Reagan, and an industrialist reveals the roots of his giving spirit:

"My father had become a prominent and greatly love figure in the area. . .It was an almost ecstatic experience for me to ride with him when he was on his doctor's rounds. . .Patients at their doors greeted him with such a warmth that waves of pride and honor would surge in me to find myself the son of such a father, a man so obviously good, so obviously deserving of the affection he received. He could have, however, made himself many times richer if he had insisted on collecting all of his bills; or if he could have restrained himself from giving money away; but then he would not have been the man he was. . .I have seen, in his office, drawers full of unpaid bills for which he refused to demand payment because he knew the difficult circumstances of the patients. And I heard innumerable stories from patients about leaving money behind to pay for the prescriptions he had written when he visited people who were too poor to eat, let alone pay the doctor."

What a wonderful legacy to leave your child the "business" of loving and giving to others.

LT S. Edwards, CHC, USNR

Not a halucination! Got home from a PGR mission that has a Coast Guard flag flying and I HAD to do something to let Tonkin know that he is always in our hearts and prayers!

Staying busy as always, but had time for the Canteen and I plan to use it! All of the Hawks are doing well. We are Blessed far more than we could evr have imagined!

Speaking of blessings, glad that you are here to tell about the close encounter. Everything OK?

In his autobiography, Armand Hammer known as much for his humanitarian efforts as for being chairman and CEO of Occidental Petroleum..

Oh dear. I am gonna get flamed for what I am about to write - but is it possible you don't know about Armand Hammer? The man who was a long time best friend and mentor to Al Gore's father, Senator Gore? The Armand Hammer who was frequently in Gore's home - whom Al grew up knowing well.

Is is possible that you don't know that Oxy Oil is one of the biggest polluters in the world? Gore's money has come largely from Oxy oil...

Let's start with one excerpt that covers it pretty well - from this site:

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_43_16/ai_72274771

"A secret agent for the Soviet Union since 1921, Hammer managed to make and lose several fortunes during his long life, along the way skirting investigations of money-laundering, fraud, conspiracy, espionage, bribery and countless other crimes by the FBI, Justice Department, Securities and Exchange Commission and other government agencies. The tale of his serial betrayals (of his family, his religion, his country), endless self-aggrandizement and success at courting the rich and famous makes fascinating reading, but there is a contemporary hook: Hammer loomed very large in the lives of one of America's prominent political families, the Albert Gores."

there are many sites, articles, books, that corroborate this.

book on Amazon"

http://www.amazon.com/Dossier-Secret-History-Armand-Hammer/dp/0786706775

this absorbing biography by Edward Jay Epstein, with Armand Hammer, come from long-buried sources: that Hammer financed Soviet espionage in the United States,..."

and so it goes...

Surely we can find many others to quote on the milk of human kindness?

I found a 2 lane back way for a bit before the main drag to drive home....I cross a little bridge that has a bike path crossing, below bridge grade, on the far side as I go home. As I started across the bridge the moose popped up and onto the road, ran across, and dropped back down. A couple car lengths maybe....not close as he kept running....a yearling.

God Bless you and the PGR for all you do.....and for a Coastie today. Thanks to all of you. ((HUGS))

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
