COP BIG'S SUICIDE NOTE A BOMBSHELL (Another Suicide)
NY Post ^ | May 17, 2008 | FREDRIC U. DICKER in Albany and MATTHEW NESTEL in New Windsor, NY

A former top State Police official who killed himself left behind a detailed suicide note focusing on Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's probe of the Dirty Tricks Scandal and feared an ongoing investigation of ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer's involvement with prostitutes, The Post has learned.

Recently retired State Police Inspector Gary Berwick, who hung himself in the garage of his home on Thursday, wrote a wide-ranging and sometimes rambling suicide note, sources said.

The letter zeroed in on his close relationship with former acting State Police Superintendent Preston Felton, a key figure in last summer's political espionage scandal who was dumped after Gov. Paterson took office in March, sources said.

The handwritten note was found near the 48-year-old Berwick's body Thursday afternoon in New Windsor, Orange County. It was read by a senior State Police official at the scene, placed in a sealed envelope and spirited to State Police headquarters in Albany, sources said.

Berwick, along with his longtime friend Felton, were both involved in the plot by Spitzer and his top aides to use the State Police to gather purportedly damaging information on alleged misuse of state aircraft by Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno (R-Rensselaer).

What’s with the hanging. The madam staying with her Mother hung herself, too. Spitzer’s goons must have this down to a fine art.

Don’t forget Brandy Britton - she was a call girl who worked for Palfrey. She apparently hung herself too.

Sad story for his family only. He hung himself in garage and the rope broke and he was found laying on the floor. But he left a note on garage door for his 16yr old daughter NOT to go in there, she did and she found him. Poor girl.

Aside from that, I think NYS political machine is about to explode if Cuomo does his job.

“Berwick, who retired as a $153,206-a-year State Police inspector on April 30, was the onetime head of former Pataki’s security detail. “

AMazing how much we pay for corrupt people.

Spitzer’s goons must have this down to a fine art.

They'll be in civil court before criminal court. All use of a noose must be licensed by the NAACP.

Not very good artists if they leave a note like this one!

More than a few Pellicano's needed by 'Liberal's worth their salt. . .

Meantime, just how is the new Governor doing up there. Doing his slimy best no doubt, to keep the lid on all the remaining 'worm cans'.

How sad. What a swath of misery Spitzer has left in his wake his entire life.

NYS political machine is about to explode if Cuomo does his job.

What are the chances?

Seriously, when I think "Cuomo", a picture of a slimy sleazeball appears, but that's his dad. What's Cuomo Jr. like?

Interesting. . .does not say who was whome at time of 'death'; though perhaps covered in earlier story(?). Also; still amazing to me that a policeman would choose 'hanging' rather than his own gun.

A lesson on 'victimless' crimes. . .and the path laid for them.
