AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, and Doctor of Democracy. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

What planet are you living on? McCain appointing judges like Alito. No way on God’s green earth that his buddies in the Rat party will confirm such an appointment. As far as winning the war in Iraq, we will be lucky to emerge with a military at all after his Rats buddies cut the defense budget, certainly will not be monies for forces in Iraq. The only hope for this republic is to rebuild the republican party or perhaps another party after the defeat of this “maverick”. Maybe he will do what he considered doing in 2001 and join the Rat party and take his supporters here with him.

McCain will take the path of least resistance with judges, as he has for at least ten years. He will appoint exactly one judge like Alito or Roberts. When they fail, he will go along with his friends and nominate someone they will like.

I think you are exactly right. It would be entirely consistent with his long-held dislike of conservatives.

The way he flipped on the Environment. I would not be surprised if he flipped on the judges along with the War. The guy is more concerned what the Media thinks vs. Conservatives.

Minor point but he will not appoint one judge like Roberts, he will nominate one judge (best case scanerio), he will as a general rule appoint the likes of Spector.

someone said.....

“I think he’s envisioning a “Wilderness Experience” for the GOP in upcoming years.” referring to Rush

Well, I’m not!!! I’m remembering vividly and still angry and disgusted with how Conservative Republicans voted in the 2006 election.

Oh, ya! that really helped alot, ya, you’ll showed them, didn’t you!! To even think of voting for Barack Hussein Obama or Hillary Clinton is a slap in the face to Ronald Reagan, imo, anyone who can is not and never was a Conservative, let alone a Republican.

Bush, Dems promise cooperation

Democrats took control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate for the first time in a dozen years in the 2006 midterm elections, and President Bush and top Democrats quickly promised to get along despite a rancorous campaign.

I expect support for Iraq will follow the same path.

Really? I thought that's the one issue in which he really believes. Although he does oppose Gitmo and waterboarding, which I see as poor judgment derived from his own experience as a POW. Hm.

1) McCain won't have any choice in the judges because he'll face an overwhelming opposition in the Senate. Think Bork times 10. He'll be forced to nominate Souters or worse.

2) Likewise on the war, emboldened by their new, big majorities (which McCain will give the Dems, even if he wins), they will de-fund the war or otherwise tie his hands so that he can't possibly win.

Better to let the Dems inherit Medicare, SS, and, yes, Iraq (which a McCain, who has no long-term vision, can't do much anyway) and we'll come back and get CONSERVATIVES to fix it in four years.

Obama also started the 57 state thing by saying McCain is "loosing his bearings".

Funny, how it’s conservatives slapping President Ronald Reagan in the face, yet it’s McCainiacs saying that we “need to get over Ronald Reagan.”

I would expect him to “declare victory” and pull out, leaving just enough there to support “law enforcement” efforts to be sitting ducks for terrorists.
