Travis Childers, elected U.S. House, District 1, Mississippi. [Note: This is an AP bulletin - nothing follows]
I thought it was already past panic time. Isn't that how we ended up with John McCain? Panic over a Hillary presidency?
Irrelevant.
Congress has an approval rating of less than HALF of that in every state, and that is not stopping them from making sweeping wins in contest after contest.
Far from it. - the democrat controlled congess has a very low rating and the dems are winning.
Think about that and what it really means.
Probably because people actually think the GOP is still at the helm.
You have the same voters in Tupelo that most of the country has. All they know to do is vote “D” when they are dissatisfied with standpat “R”s. The inept GOP is committing suicide, just as Thaddeus Stevens said in 1866 that the South had committed suicide by secession. Much of this blame also rests on disorganized Republican voters many of them also as dumb as rocks.
Not necessarily. It will be difficult for the 'Rats to win congressional seats in Republican states with "Osama" Obama heading their ticket. Don't forget that the total vote in the same district in November will dwarf the total vote in a special election, so these special elections don't mean all that much in terms of predictive value.
Too late.
And of course it’s relevant. When Democrats are trying to tie John McCain to Bush you know it’s bad. Bush has failed miserably to shape opinion in his second term.
All politics is local, as the saying goes. If people are not happy where they live and work, they will not get your vote regardless of the office you seek.
Please see my post # 85.
Yes, it means that the “low rating” is against GWB, but many voters are too confused about separation of powers issues that they don’t understand that the Congress now has Democrat majorities. So like the ostrich, they just keep voting D. It’s soothing to them to vote for candidates who are “for the people”!
“What the HECK happened to the old Bush we all loved??”
His own inability to quickly adjust to the Soros-funded attack machines in a timely manner.
He should have been ATTACKING the Democrats every time they attacked him, ES{ECIALLY on the War.
Instead, he bet on the intelligence of the American electorate to see past the leftist BS.
BAD BET...
Did you see that line in Independence Day when the alcoholic pilot said; “I picked a Hell of a day to stop drinking?”
Well, I haven't had a drink for years, but I know exactly what you mean.
Our own neighbors will be the end of us. We are being overwhelmed by the vote of folly.
Juan McNuts worships Global Warming....
I don’t think this a reflection of Rep. Cole at all. It’s just the cycle, as voters tire of inept, standpat “R”s and roll with the “D”s.
I've started reading Ayn Rand's "Return of the Primitive: The Anti-Industrial Revolution"...40 years ago, she nails the problems with the Republicans.
So true. Never again. NEVER. No new tone. No nice guy. WHen they’re down, don’t kick ‘em, shoot ‘em.
Yeah.
We all have Bush Fatigue but you, Norman are starting to borderline BDS.
What the hell do you think would have happened to us if we had Algore or Theresa’s boy?
Negative attitudes produce negative results.
Feed into it all if you must, I suggest turning off your TV and talking to your neighbors.
“Right now theyre convinced that were in another great depression and nobody has a job despite the low 5% unemployment rate.”
THE POWER OF PROPOGANDA...
Sadly, in our media-centric society, long, dry explanations of facts don’t sell as well to the sheep, as do short sound-bursts full of hopeless empty plattitudes.
It took CARTER to bring us Reagan, and i’m afraid that people are going to have to go through REAL PAIN, before they realize that again.
There's no way in hell we gain seats in November. We could lose a ton -- even if McCain wins.
