The open-borders media has been AWOL on John McCains decision to speak to the radical racialist group, La Raza/The Race in July. He has been allowed to skate on the issue in several recent sit-down interviews. Many of the same pundits who blasted Barack Obama for his ties to the radical racialist Jeremiah Wright have nothing to say about McCains longtime association with the shamnesty-pushing, sovereignty-undermining, publicly-subsidized shakedown artists of La Raza/The Race.
Not everyones looking the other way. Editorial page editor Colin McNickle at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review warned today:
McCain had made significant progress in reaching out to conservatives over the last month or so. But his La Raza embrace is a serious lapse of judgment, one of a number of lapses that, if the primaries are a valid indicator, could lead to a full quarter of the Republican electorate staying home on Nov. 4.
Guess McCains counting on all his left-wing global warming fear-mongering friends to make up the difference.

John McCain Praises Pro-illegal ProtestsAll one had to do is look at the protesters to see who the organizers were--socialist and communist groups. International Answer would be at the top of the pack.
April 02, 2006Sen. John McCain is praising the recent wave of pro-illegal immigration demonstrations, saying that if the protesters hang tough they will succeed in forcing Congress to liberalize immigration laws.
"If such demonstrations continue, I think we will have a bill for the President to sign soon," the Arizona Republican told a New York City gathering on Friday sponsored by the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform.
"The more debate, the more demonstrations, the more likely we will prevail," McCain added, in quotes picked up by the New York Daily News.

My objection to these groups has nothing to do with their race or country of origin. It has to do with the rule of law and the ideology of those to whom McCain is pandering. He is not wooing people to vote for him because they agree with the Republican platform or conservative ideals. He is pandering and capitulating to their demands giving them more power. I object to the SURRENDER of my country and I object to people like you who continue to throw around words like "racist" at people who will fight to defend it. Half my living family is Mexican-American and NONE of them agree with what John McCain is doing. There is a large group of latinos in the United States that should be recruited to the GOP--but they are NOT those associated with La Raza, the public employee unions, or the Che Guevara and Hugo Chavez lovers who were marching in the street demanding citizenship for lawbreakers.
La Raza ... Al Qaeda ... Al Raza? ;-)
I’m curious.
What is your native language?
You don't know much about La Raza, yet you have castigated freepers on this thread and others, thrown around the "racist" word, just because they were genuinely offended by McCain's gestures made to the group. Well ain't that sumthin' special! (not)
My attack was intended at people like Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity, who make money by abusing the emotions of people like Freepers. They know how to rile that group. They know how to turn that frustation in dollars.
Contrary to common liberal thought, all conservatives I know can think for themselves, make their own judgments, and do not wait around waiting for Sean Hannity or Michelle Malkin to tell them how to react.
They are the ones who promulgate this insane idea that meetint with bad characters or your enemies somehow makes you one of them or validates them.
When a politician meets with a group, while on the campaign trail--yes... it does validate them. When they stand in front of that group, it tells the group they are important--else the politician would not waste their time. Can you understand that basic concept?
That is complete nonsense and most intelligent people would laugh at that notion.
Some may be laughing now, but not in the way you suggest.
Courtesy Comment:
A very few FReeper posters for some reason are more politically correct and cowardly acting when it comes to calling a spade a spade, such as pointing out La Raza is a racists organization.
I guess they are afraid of being branded a racists by the politically correct in-crowd.
I wonder how many ordinary hard working white folks La Raza have signed up on their roster.
I have been flamed severely for stating my opinion that perverted black slang as used by Al Sharpton, Reverend Wright and others is not good for our children to hear and use in everyday conversations.
Thanks

Point, set and match! ;)
How can we turn Mexicans into Republicans?
Good Lord man! I now see there is a reason your name is The_Republican and not The_Conservative.
So you are a supporter of:
MeCain/Kennedy: Comprehensive Immigration Amnesty
MeCain/Feingold: Free Speech except before an election
Gang of 14: Obstruct fellow Republicans on Judicial Nominations:
..and on and on.
MeCain is team player alright, plays for the other team.
>>>>NO REPUBLICAN WOULD EVER BE ELECTED IF HISPANICS TURN INTO A MONOLITHIC BLOCKS LIKE AFRICAN AMERICANS.
>>I agree. But you can’t align yourself with the worst of the group you’re targeting.
Exactly so.
For the same reason, Republicans have been stupid to beat their heads against the wall trying to go talk to groups like the NAACP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dem party. And the NAACP is considerably better than La Raza.
There are better ways to speak to people in those communities, than to talk to groups such as these.
I intend to vote for McCain, and feel very strongly about it, but I concur 100% with Kent here. Your position is that of an imbecile.
I, for one, do consider it far beneath me to “reach out” (read: pander) to racists. Senator McCain should, too. It is also insulting to say that this pandering needs to take place for us to get the Hispanic vote. One does not need to seek out the raging racists in a demographic block to gain the voters of that block. If that was the case, presidential candidates would be dropping in on KKK meetings.
McCain and La Raza/The Race: A serious display of intention
The question is, who is voting and how do we know that they even qualify to be here in the U.S. LEGALLY much less qualify to vote in our election? The answer is we don't know. There is no effective metric to capture it and no effective way to counter it, thanks to another 8 years of deliberate foot dragging by the Federal Government (aka the Bush Administration). We have a foreign power (Mexico) inserting itself directly into our presidential election process in order to drive major U.S. domestic and foreign policy in a direction favorable to their corrupt state.
McCain and the GOP are more than happy to endorse and legislate in illegal amnesty while at the same time capitalizing on the glaring weakness in documentation requirements and lack of effective means to counter false IDs at the polling booths- all for the voting block that hispanics bring to an election. It's the worst form of pandering and political cynicism that has usually been the trademark of liberals. Congratulations for taking a major page out of their playbook and running with it. Congratulations on turning the other way to enforcing Federal Laws for the sake of a 15% voter margin.
So, if that's "reaching out", you pubbies can reach out to the Mexican crime gangs and corruption that comes with the poison you are brewing. Who is going to pay social services costs for 22+ MILLION (and growing) illegals? Who are you going to need to tax to keep that electorate gravy train happy? You guys make Obama look tame by comparison.
You assclowns are selling out U.S. national sovereignty and threatening National Security much more effectively than al Qaeda can ever do on its own. Congratulations for that, too.
Yep, according to Rasmussen the hispanic vote is going for Obama 58% to 35%, lower numbers than President Bush received. Meanwhile, McCain is losing conservatives right and left pandering to people who will vote Dem.
“They are the ones who promulgate this insane idea that meetint with bad characters or your enemies somehow makes you one of them or validates them.”
So I must assume that you approve of Obama’s foreign policy plan of talking to Achmadenijad in Iran, or Kim Jong Il or any number of terrorists face to face with no preconditions. After all, according to you, it doesn’t validate them in any way to have the ear of the President of the United States.

Kent-ostensibly-trapped-in-liberal-Seattle (what's keeping him from leaving?) has been for some time now, along with some others, on a feverish mission of rage against McCain and Kamikaze strikes against rank-and-file Republicans.
