The open-borders media has been AWOL on John McCains decision to speak to the radical racialist group, La Raza/The Race in July. He has been allowed to skate on the issue in several recent sit-down interviews. Many of the same pundits who blasted Barack Obama for his ties to the radical racialist Jeremiah Wright have nothing to say about McCains longtime association with the shamnesty-pushing, sovereignty-undermining, publicly-subsidized shakedown artists of La Raza/The Race.
Not everyones looking the other way. Editorial page editor Colin McNickle at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review warned today:
McCain had made significant progress in reaching out to conservatives over the last month or so. But his La Raza embrace is a serious lapse of judgment, one of a number of lapses that, if the primaries are a valid indicator, could lead to a full quarter of the Republican electorate staying home on Nov. 4.
Guess McCains counting on all his left-wing global warming fear-mongering friends to make up the difference.

Related from The Other McCain: Mr. Reformers Glass House.
So, when La Raza was promoting protests for amnesty and backing the communist groups marching in the streets claiming they were taking back their country, and McCain praised their efforts, you think this was a good thing?
If you fail to see the difference of pandering to groups that are destructive to the country during a Presidential campaign and practicing diplomacy as a sitting president, I don't know what to say.
So they believe Hispanic equivalent of “Black Liberation Theology”. Most of those 10 reasons are what MOST if not ALL Democrats stand for. Are they RACIST and HATEFUL GROUP that no Republican should ever come in contact with? Perhaps they are but you still have to engage them.
Even if they have this idea of building Hispanic oriented State, they are Citizens and Vote here.
You can’t change their mind or help them mellow their stance by categorizing them as RACIST or TERROR group. What purpose would that serve, other than converting Hispanics into a Monolith Block like Blacks?
Just remember, President Bush would NOT have been elected if not for nearly 40% of Hispanics who came out and voted for him.
NO REPUBLICAN WOULD EVER BE ELECTED IF HISPANICS TURN INTO A MONOLITHIC BLOCKS LIKE AFRICAN AMERICANS.
You reach out, because they are part of this Country no matter how pathetic their idealogy. We engaged with USSR and China and it helped and it worked. We engage everyone, and try to change them or educated them but just hating them or ignoring them is not good for short term and definitely disastrous for long term.
Churchill almost met Hitler before he came to power. Churchill, as many may not know, had a soft spot for Jews. When an intermediary asked Churchill whether he wanted to meet Hitler, he had a request.
Churchill told the man to ask Hitler this question: What is the sense of being against a man simply because of his birth? How can any man help how he is born? If Churchill wanted to meet Hitler, he wouldn't have asked this question.
Needless to say, my opinion on the matter of meeting with these racist thugs is probably more aligned with Churchill. Their goals are based on racism and power. LaRaza will only want concessions.
McCain will trade our some of our safety for their support. There's no need to give them credibility. There's no need to worry so many Americans who are the target of LaRaza's hatred.
Elected Officials.....were you sleeping through Hillary and Obama debate in Texas? They agreed with Al Raza platform almost verbatim. Ohter than Aztalan or whatever, they promised to do exactly what that 10 point memo says.
So yeah, if Democrat leaders on National TV agree with the Al Raza agenda, word by word, I am correct to say Democrats agree with them.
La Raza = Hispanic KKK
I can understand why you would confuse different set of facts on purpose, because obviously the facts are not your freinds.
Did McCain, in your words, “praise” their Communist Endeavors. McCain? Are you out of your mind? I doubt their is a person alive in America who has lower opinion of Communists than McCain.
Their are lots of people besides Al Raza who are attracted to loser Philosophies.
That is not the point.
Point is that they must have enough influence to affect the results of Elections. If McCain is reaching out to them, its for same reason he is reaching out to Blacks, knowing full well that he would lose their vote by 95% or worse. You reach out so they don’t hate you. You reach out so they at least respect your effort. You reach out because some who are not as radical as them, appreciate your effort.
Again, reaching out is not same as approving everything they want.
Once again: demonstrably untrue. See post #15. Unless Democrats make up a mere 20% (or less of the entire American electorate -- and, presumably, you're not so far gone, at this point, to add an assertion as cockeyed as that to what is already a rapidly growing list of same -- your statement is ridiculous, on its very face.
> May I ask where you got this information.
Ummm, he pulled it out of his ass maybe?
> I know and am related to many Democrats and I assure you this is not the case
Correct, it's utter crap. I live near Ithaca NY, where not only are 95% of the residents liberal Democrats, but their dogs are too. I know a lot of them (the residents, not the dogs), as co-workers, friends, and (sigh) family.
Very few of them sympathize in any respect at all with La Raza, and I know of none that are members or would consider being.
If there's any truth to his claim, it's within a very circumscribed area with a high LaRaza contingent, and they happen to vote Democrat. But saying that because most violent criminals breathe air, therefore most air-breathers are violent criminals, is obviously bogus.
I agree. But you can't align yourself with the worst of the group you're targeting.
The last thing LaRaza needs is encouragement and credibility. Meeting with LaRaza signals to them that the country is ready for a coup.
You are right that Republicans should reach out but McCain is just so pigheaded and wrongheaded.
He could have helped make Comprehensive Immigration Reform a reality but he dug his heels in and refused to compromise.
Anyone who routinely cannot even spell the group's name correctly has scant standing (if any) to lecture others on what they do, or do not stand for; or what sort of support they do, or do not, genuinely enjoy.
You've already publicly described them as "Al Raza (which I dont know much about)." As theb rest of us hereabouts, plainly, demonstrably DO know more about the topic than you do: read, and learn.
I explained why I know Democrats agree with Al Raza. Anyone with IQ over 75 who watched the Hillary Obama debate in Texas would know that. You obviously have trouble understanding simple concepts.
What are you talkihg about? When I said Democrats, I meant their leaders, Elected Officials.
I know the BITTER BLOC in Dem Party that Obama is having so much trouble with, is obviously hateful of immigrants and have strong anti-free-trade and anti-immigration views.
See post #15. Whatever you "know" (or, rather, absurdly believe you know about a group you've already described as being one "which I don't know much about") is in error; and simply spewing ad hominem insults at FReepers who've conclusively proved that won't remedy the situation. You're simply humiliating yourself publicly, at this juncture.
Incidentally: how many IQ points does it take to spell "La Raza" correctly?
Look, He is reaching out to Parsely, Hagee, Al Raza, whoever. I assure you, 95% if not higher percentage of Americans have never ever heard of Al Raza.
We have had Black Panthers, and KKK, and Nazi Party and even Communist Party here. All these haters lose.
Al Raza, they obviously have not crossed certain line where McCain felt comfortable meeting them. He would obviously not meet one of BP, KKK, NP and CP. I am saying I TRUST HIS JUDGEMENT. He is not going to meet them if they qualifed as one of those kind of hate groups. Some hyper conservatives may have extrapolated their views and categorized them as pure evil, and they might be right. However, the fact McCain met them, tells me that they are NOT pariah like one of those other groups.
I didn’t know much about them, but you were KIND enough to provide a link. Now I have some idea. My attack was intended at people like Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity, who make money by abusing the emotions of people like Freepers. They know how to rile that group. They know how to turn that frustation in dollars. They are the ones who promulgate this insane idea that meetint with bad characters or your enemies somehow makes you one of them or “validates” them. That is complete nonsense and most intelligent people would laugh at that notion.
You're welcome to your beliefs, it's still a free country.
> You obviously have trouble understanding simple concepts.
On the contrary, I just don't go along with your silly supposition and incorrect inference.
You obviously have trouble understanding that personal attacks are unwelcome on FR. I observed that you had no factual basis for your claim ("pulled it out of his ass"). That attacks the validity of your claim, but not you personally. You on the other hand attacked me, not my comment. Cool it.
And BTW, learn to spell. It's La, not Al. The implication that LaRaza is an Arabic organization is dumb, not clever.
Ummmmmmm... what are You blathering about, for pity's sake? What you actually stated -- your increasingly frenzied and desperate attempts at backpedaling notwithstanding -- was: "what MOST if not ALL Democrats stand for."
You not only intentionally opted for the words "most" and "all': you even CAPITALIZED them, for emphasis.
Seriously: are you high...?!? ROTFLMAO!!!!!
No, you plainly "have" no such thing. Read more; spew less.
My attack was intended at people like Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity, who make money by abusing the emotions of people like Freepers.
... and, once again: your true ideological "slip" is beginning to show. Pathetic.
No back pedalling. You are not capable of causing me to back pedal. I did make a mistake however. I assumed you were capable of knowing that when I said Democrate agree with Al Raza, I meant the Democrats who are actually in Power.....like Obama and Hillary.
I told you that they support all non-Aztalan points on the Michelle Malkin list. NOt only they support those points, they are proud of it and do so on National TV and their is no public outrage.
Obviously, any semi-intelligent person knows that “working class democrats” hate free trade and immigration. I wasn’t thinking about those sukcers. However, if that trivial point gives you some pathetic joy, then be my guest.
I din’t know that agreeing with insanity such as idiots like Malkin are promoting makes you less Conservative. LOL!
