John McCain, a Not So Favorable Retrospective (Heavy Graphics)
My own thoughts... | DoughtyOne

John McCain's Road the the White House

In his natural habitat...
Liberalism's Heritage Preserve.

John's ten Maverick years.

Has anyone forgotten them?

The Republican Primaries 2008.
*

Cabin boy McQueeg to lead...
Conservatism's darkest hour.
*

Oh my God, I did that?
Anyone got a barf bag?

Pale white, this year's new green.
*

Just so you know, John is willing to sacrifice himself...
for the good of the nation.
*

In answer to your question John, zero votes.  Nice try though.

Springtime in D.C.

Just reaching out...

Just reaching out...

Just reaching out...

Just reaching out...

Just reaching out, the Keating 5 fiasco...

Always in good company, John McCain with Demcrats or die hard liberals... it's been the pattern.

Well, no full accounting for our men MIA, but least we have normalized relations with Vietnam...
*        *

July 11, 1995, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., (right), and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., (center),
gave President Bill Clinton, (left), the valuable political cover he needed to remove the U.S.
imposed trade embargo against communist Vietnam.  All major U.S. veterans organizations,
the two POW/MIA family groups, and the majority of Vietnamese Americans in this country
opposed Clinton's lifting of the embargo.

Didn't their service, POW status, torture and devotion to duty deserve as much respect as John's?  Evidently not.

We still don't have a full accounting for men a number of whom were seen alive by other POWs after shoot down or incarceration.

They found out about George Soros' funding

Looks like some are going to buy off on the
Clinton/Obama scare tactics Mini-Me, er...
Mavrick.

Right John, some ideas just stink?
*

But we didn't want Clinton or Obama to destroy the nation...
How were we supposed to know?

You could have listened! *

It isn't the first time we were wrong,
but I never thought they could put
that much lipstick on this guy.

A new reality TV series coming to your home this fall. *

When Johnny's Conservative vote comes marching home.

No matter how you dress it...
it's still not going to appeal to Conservatives.

I have 2:

1] Assault on the First Amendment with Campaign Finance Reform and his now wanting to outlaw 527s.

2] His continued pushing for amnesty and his still wanting Comprehensive Immigration.

I think of Obama in the Oval Office. I shake my head and get physically ill.

I think of Clinton in the Oval Office. I shake my head and get physically ill.

I think of McCain in the Oval Office. I shake my head and get physically ill.

Barr from the Libertarians? Baldwin from the Constitution Party? Maybe.

A senator should never be president; and the top 3 contenders are senators.

Yes Pogo, it was either two or three true Conservatives who voted against Ginsberg. I’ve forgotten the exact count. And isn’t that the problem?

The Senate is a vast wasteland. And even though John McCain helped make it that way, folks now want to install him into the White House.

Why is the Senate so fricken bad? It’s because we have accepted RINOs until we’re blue in the face. Now we want to place one of the absolute worst, in the White House.

Look at what this guy has been up to. Do you honestly think he is going to back our play at all over the next eight years? He didn’t over the last eight.

We rail on the Democrats for voting for folks like Ginsberg, but if our team does it all is forgiven. Why is that? What does a vote for Ginsberb by McCain tell us, if not that he is not a Conservative?

McCain scares me but Hussein Obama scares the hell out of me.

As far as I am concerned, the Republican Party can kiss my ass after the McCain railroad job. I can assure you that I am mad as hell about it too. I cannot imagine that McCain is the best the party has to offer.

I will not be voting for McCain. I will only be voting AGAINST HUSSEIN.

I the present climate I’d have to agree with you. It reminds me of the verse in the Bible where is is asked, “Can any good think come from Nazareth?” Today it’s, “Can any good thing come from the Senate?”

You know what Boycott, I support you doing what you think is best. I just wouldn’t think that I had done my best if I didn’t raise the issue. You take care.

BTW, why do you think a guy who voted for Ginsberg will appoint someone better?

Honest to goodness folks, take a good look at this man.

Most of these guys are party loyalists. Stick an R on Obama, and they would claim he is the only suitable candidate in the race.

Heck, they stuck an R on McCain and they think he is the best thing since sliced bread, even though the Dem-wannabe considered bolting the party in 2000 and even thought he (via his staff) approached Kerry to be Kerry's VP in 2004.

OneDoug, I think the next twelve years will spell either a rebirth in our nation, or doom for it. I do think it is important to pray for the nation, and then you and I need to organize, get off our duffs and start taking this nation back.

You can I and a whole lot of other folks are sick at what we see happening to our nation.

I agree with your reasons why not to vote for him. That being said, I’m still voting for him over Obama.

I have one reason for supporting McCain. He supports our troops in Iraq while Obama will force them to surrender.

Please don't let the sacrifices of our brave men and women be for nothing.

Here’s the key question Tom. Nothing above is a deal breaker for those who fear Obama or Clinton.

I have asked this over and over, to the sound of crickets.

What could John McCain possibly do to cost him your vote in November?

There’s no answer. John has done it all. And still, people are convinced that this ‘abusive husband’ is about to change his ways and become the perfect spouse.

Why don’t you just vote for Obama? The fact that you are not voting for McLame doesn’t make any difference except that you’re helping the most liberal Presidential candidate ever reach the Whitehouse. Real smart buddy.

That’s okay. Continue to give it some thought.

Obama = Conservative opposition, growth for Conservatism
McCain = No Conservative oppostion, destruction of the network that Conservatism grows on

people are convinced that this ‘abusive husband’ is about to change his ways and become the perfect spouse.

The same 'rehabilitation' is going on with McCain that went on by many over Thompson. They are projecting what they want him to be, rather than what his has been.

They will be voting for the same (same McCain) and expecting a different result (a different McCain).

It isn't going to happen, however.

I'm trying to understand. May I assume that you are not proposing to literally "vote for Obama", but rather, "let Obama win"? Perhaps we can agree that the other 414 candidates are irrelevant.

We can also agree that Obama would face the most resistance in Congress - at first. But President Obama would be in a position to influence congressional elections, and get representatives more in-line with his thinking. After eight years of President Obama, and a few election cycles, who knows what Congress will be like? Their resistance could fade.

And what sort of Command-in-Chief would Obama be compared to McCain? If Obama wins, we abandon our commitment to Iraq. This is the fatal flaw of any "let Obama win" concept.

This pic sums up the whole situation in this primary.

What the Krintons didn't factor in was McCain sucking up to and taking in the hispanics this time around.

What happens when John closes Gitmo, grants terrorists Geneva Convention status, outlaws water boarding and grants terrorists access to our courts?

Do you understand that water boarding has been saving the lives of our troops? Do you realize that when these terrorists reach our courts, that methods and contacts will be revealed? Do you understand that affects our men in Iraq negatively? Do you understand that they polices, John McCain has voiced support for will cost some of our troops their lives?

When someone proposes this stuff, I want Conservatives to oppose it with all their might? I don’t want half of Conservatives to say, “Well, John is our guy, we need to support him”, and the other half to try to do something about it, but have thier objections fall on deaf ears?

This is why I think it is vitally important that we oppose John, so we can form a solid block against Obama.
