Against the backdrop of a stunning Texas sunset, near a lake on the Bush family's 1,600-acre ranch, President Bush walked his daughter, Jenna, down the aisle to her groom, the White House said.
Jenna Bush and Henry Hager say "I do" on Saturday. "We're mighty blessed," President Bush said.
Jenna, 26, married Henry Hager, the son of a well-connected Virginia Republican.
"The wedding was spectacular. It was all we could have hoped for," the president said Sunday before boarding Air Force One.
"We're mighty blessed."
Wearing a white silk organza Oscar de la Renta gown, the bride stood with the groom before a beige-colored cross and altar made of Texas limestone.
The White House declined to release many details of the festivities, citing the family's wish for privacy.
Bush family friend Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell of Houston officiated as the couple exchanged wedding vows in front of some 200 family members and friends.
The guests arrived in five coach buses and were waved through the ranch's checkpoint around 7 p.m.

Afterwards, under a tent nestled in a thick cluster of trees, the celebration included dinner and dancing to the music of the Motown-style band, the Tyrone Smith Review, the White House said.
A CNN camera crew positioned miles from the wedding site saw a glimpse of the white tent, illuminated with what appeared to be strings of lights hanging from the ceiling.
The president and the bride picked "You Are So Beautiful" for their father-daughter dance, band leader Tyrone Smith of Nashville, Tennessee. told The Associated Press. Smith and his 10-piece party band, The Tyrone Smith Revue, was asked to do "Lovin' in My Baby's Eyes" by Taj Mahal for the newlyweds' first dance.

thanks for posting!
Beautiful dress.
Seems like Bush knows as many black people as I do ;-).
So many brides pick dresses that would look great on someone else.
Lots of fat brides wear strapless gowns.
I’m a little dissapointed in Laura’s dress.
Is their preacher a black man?? I didn’t realize that.
That is Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell pastor of Windsor United Methodist Church of Houston. They met when President Bush was Governor of Texas and developed a long lasting friendship. Rev. Caldwell gave the benidiction at both of the Presidents inaugrations and has done other things for the President.
The minister is a well known Methodist minister from Houston who has also been a long time supporter of GWB.
Great pictures...beautiful wedding, Bride and Groom, just a grand setting here in Texas. What a wonderful day for Jenna and Henry, President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Barbara, Henry’s Family from the great state of Virginia...and all the others in both families. God Bless Them All.
How snarky! I'm glad Jenna and Henry got the wedding that THEY wanted without it being disturbed by the press gaggle!
They were not bridesmaids, as everyone thinks of them, walking down the aisle in procession ahead of the bride. Those 14 young ladies are the “House Party”, and they serve the purpose of being available to do errands for the bride while planning for the wedding, and on the days just before. They also keep an eye on things during the parties and ceremony, helping to make sure things go smoothly. It’s a great way for a young lady to have her friends be an important part of her wedding without having to have them all crowd around the altar during the ceremony.
There was a picture posted the other day of Laura, Jenna, and Doro, the President’s sister, sitting at some event. I was struck by just how much Jenna looks like Doro, so she definitely favors the Bush side of the family, but she also has a lot of her mother’s looks about her, as well.
Can you post this larger to really see how werd Amy Carter and her Hub look in comparison??
I'm very sorry I couldn't marry you. Each of the thousands of voicemails and emails you sent me were very touching, but I just am not available.
I hope you understand, and I'm sure this young man is just super.
Best, tih
I agree 100%. The back is sexy and the flowers in her hair are nicer than a veil any day.
Thanks for the thread & pix. It looks like a beautiful wedding, and reception. I love Jenna’s dress-very elegant and it suits her perfectly.
The last pic in #115 It looks like GWB is reaching down to pick up the hat of the Marine guard that has blown off near the stairs.
Pictures like this tell me a lot about our President. It is such a normal thing to do, but too many of the elites would wait for an “underling” to do it.
Found this slightly larger version here
Everything about this ceremony is spectacular. The altar, the lake, the wildflowers and at sunset! Very beautiful. I’m glad that Pastor Caldwell officiated. He is very loved in Houston.
All blessings to Henry and Jenna!
