I saw Col. George Bud Day, talking about his and John McCain’s war experiences and it is very moving, and shows that John McCain has strength of character when it counts.

Very moving but irrelevant.
This does not change how McCain has voted on amnesty or taxes. Does not change his words or deeds on the border fence. Does not change his statements on marriage or roe vs wade.
We do not give Murtha or Rev Wright or Kerry a “free pass” because they served or did something of note.
This was discussed on FR a few weeks ago. Looks like McCain is just copying John Kerry’s campaign of being coy and allowing surrogates to say how wonderful he is/was.
Many people have “stepped up” in a crisis then have turned around and stood down in every day life.

True - McCain is no John Effin' Kerry in the character department. And if Barak Hussein gets the nom (assuming he doesn't fall victim to Arkancide), McCain is gonna ed-u-ma-cate the young man about what it really means to sacrifice for your country, and it ain't about cavorting with seditionists, Marxist rabble, and terrorists. I don't trust McCain any farther than I can throw him on a lot of issues, but at least he's a
man, where Obama is a
boy.
And Hitlery is a jack-booted bitch.

If John McCain truly had the character necessary to make a good President he would not have acted in the deplorable fashion that he has done on multiple occasions since 2000.
If by that statement you mean't his character is better than the alternative, sure, I'll buy that, but his character if flawed nonetheless.
I applaud his service and sacrifice, however, it does not make up for his extremely bad behavior as a Republican.
And it does not matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it is still a pig.
