Very moving but irrelevant.

This does not change how McCain has voted on amnesty or taxes. Does not change his words or deeds on the border fence. Does not change his statements on marriage or roe vs wade.

We do not give Murtha or Rev Wright or Kerry a “free pass” because they served or did something of note.

This was discussed on FR a few weeks ago. Looks like McCain is just copying John Kerry’s campaign of being coy and allowing surrogates to say how wonderful he is/was.

Many people have “stepped up” in a crisis then have turned around and stood down in every day life.

Hardly fair to compare McCain - a true hero -with Kerry - a wannabe.

BINGO!

Thank you, Mr. McCain, for you service and hardship on my behalf and I hope that America has repaid you well for your suffering and sacrifice.

That said, Lee Harvey Oswald, Charles Whitman and John F’ing Kerry served their nation, too.

McCain is no friend of the kind of Conservatism needed to save this nation. He is a RINO and a globalist.

You are the one with the irrelevancy here. The man went through hell for serving his country at a time of war. I thank him for his service.

This has nothing to do with politics.

“Very moving but irrelevant.”

Completely agree.
Although I respect his service to our country, it does not earn my vote.
I wonder if people who will vote for McCain because of his POW statis, voted for Perot because Adm. Stockdale was Perot’s running mate.

“He(Adm. Stockdale) was held as a prisoner of war in the Hoa Lo prison for the next seven years. Locked in leg irons in a bath stall, he was routinely tortured and beaten. When told by his captors that he was to be paraded in public, Stockdale slit his scalp with a razor to purposely disfigure himself so that his captors could not use him as propaganda. When they covered his head with a hat, Stockdale beat himself with a stool until his face was swollen beyond recognition. He told them in no uncertain terms that they would never use him. When Stockdale heard that other prisoners were dying under the torture, he slit his wrists and told them that he preferred death to submission.”

Ben Franklin said it best, "We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."

McCain is our only hope to keep Obama/Clinton out of the White House. Rest assured that the Dem ticket will be Hussein and Hillary together and the Dem turnout will be huge. McCain may not even be able to pull it out even with full support of conservatives.

You, sir, are one cynical, sorry low-life.

My ex-wife had a longtermmemory (she never missed an opportunity to scold, berate, and belittle any who were around her) and it made her bitter, caustic, vitriolic, and a sad miserable human being.

Just give the man his props.

And, don’t ask how I really felt about her.

No, not irrelevant. It's relevant. But it's not as relevant as his voting record or his statements regarding political ideology. It's ok to dislike the man. I don't care for him much either. But give the man credit where he earns it.
