Rev. Sharpton says he plans to get arrested Wednesday (Showboating race pimp strikes again!)

By Brian Koonz THE NEWS-TIMES DANBURY - After blasting President Bush and the nation's immigration policy Sunday, the Rev. Al Sharpton said he plans to get arrested in New York on Wednesday as part of a civil disobedience demonstration to protest the Sean Bell verdict. Sharpton, the Brooklyn-born civil rights activist, said he plans to get arrested at One Police Plaza at 3 p.m. to protest last month's acquittals of three New York police detectives in the 50-shot barrage that killed Bell, who was unarmed.

Sharpton revealed his arrest plans, the cornerstone of a six-site demonstration, at New Hope Baptist Church in Danbury on Sunday. Sharpton spoke for nearly an hour as the guest speaker for the church's 113th anniversary program.

"God used David to challenge Goliath," Sharpton told about 350 people. "So what makes you think God can't use Al Sharpton to challenge George Bush?"

It was only a rhetorical question, but the words were met with rousing applause.

Sharpton also blasted Danbury officials for the way they've handled the illegal immigration issue. Earlier this year, the Danbury Police Department entered into an alliance with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

"I don't lie to folks and then deport them," Sharpton said, shaking his head. "I'm coming to a town of switch - and - bait."

He also criticized the Bush administration as one "that can see weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that's not there, but couldn't see a hurricane in New Orleans that was there."

The 53-year-old Sharpton was referring to the delay in federal aid to victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

WTF!? Did he really compare himself with David and thinks he is God's tool!?

News flash to Sharpton. God don't need your help to fight a lame duck.

He is rather sure what ever he is arrested for will be dropped or someone else will pay the fine. I think a jail sentence would be fine.

The authorities and police should just ignore him by deliberately avoiding his petty demonstration and let him do what ever he plans to do in his attempt to get arrested. When he does not get arrested for his petty crime may be he will get frustrated and escalate to committing a crime that will actually put him in jail for a few years.

“he will get frustrated and escalate to committing a crime that will actually put him in jail for a few years. “

He has already committed a crime. Twenty years ago, he suborned perjury in the Tawana Brawley case and got away with it.

Kent- I was going to say the same thing. Ignore Him. Keeping moving Folks, nothing to see here, just a small loud man and a camera crew from CNN on the sidewalk.

However, ignore the small loud man long enough, he will eventually try to prove that his existence is relevant and beyond what he says (First Amendment), his actions may invoke felony violations.

It would be good for our recent study of race to see someone who puts everything into the context of race.

Cops especially know that race is not on the table when making decisions about arrests for probable cuase of a crime. However, those that wear a constant filter that race affects all decisions are prone to project their filter onto everyone else.

The roll-call that morning will probably be: 1)Ignore him, don't play his game. 2) Have other cameras running to refute what CNN and others might chose to run using editted tape. and 3)If the small little man crosses the line into serious violations, send out one officer, the youngest, smallest one on the force and take the little man by the hand and quietly escort him to the intake desk. Once the cameras are out of sight, treat him like any other prisoner.

"He’s mad cause Wright is gettin’ the headlines. "

You nailed it EXACTLY. That's all these ego-maniacs are about, is getting attention.

Note to liberals: We get it! You don't like George Bush...gawd, how could anyone on the planet have missed that perpetual memo from the left.

So, Al baby, if you want to go to jail over a lame duck president, go ahead. Makes no difference to nobody...in fact, I feel more comfortable when you ARE in jail.

Truth is, you're old news...you, Jesse, and Jerimiah should move to Utah, get married and live out your lives trying to outcomplain each other.
